The article concerning the toll bridge. Rod made the statement “No way are we going to support any tolls on residents of Illinois to go to work” Hello Rod ? Anyone home ? What is the purpose of the Illinois Tollway. God this guy is stupid.

No comment on the thuggery of Rod’s campaign tactics? I thought no one could get dumber than the Jack Ryan kid following Obama from a bathroom into a press conference, then this! Recording people’s license plates! I am not sure they were state employees.

“To any construction contractors that want a big fat, bloated contract: It is almost election time. You better out your checkbook and start writing checks to my campaign, or you can look forward to this project not moving forward for four more years”

What’s wrong about making the people who benefit from the bridge have to pay for it?
- Todd Jong Il aka Wumpus - Thursday, Jun 29, 06 @ 3:41 pm:
Maybe if they made it IPass accesible with a big Gov Blago sign, they’d be okay.

The Metro-East isn’t Chicago. A toll bridge here will be a national issue. Any east-west transportation to/from MO comes thru this area. I-70, 55, 64 all converge in ESL. I have seen many MO plates traveling in both Madison & St. Clair Counties for one reason or another. MO residents are moving to Jersey, Madison, St. Clair, & Monroe at a rapid rate.
I’ve also noticed that there is not one bridge across the Missouri R. connecting St. Louis & St. Charles Counties. Miraculously, Jeff City found the money.
MO desperately needs this bridge & just doesn’t want to foot the bill. Nationally, a toll bridge across the Mississippi R. is an insult — period.
