Question of the day
Friday, Jul 14, 2006 - Posted by Rich Miller It’s Friday, so let’s lighten it up. Which number will be higher during the second half of the baseball season, White Sox wins or Cub losses? Currently, the White Sox are 57-31, while the Cubs are 34-54.

It doesn’t matter, the White Sox will have to be content with the Wild Card anyway. GO TIGERS!
- Lovie's Leather - Friday, Jul 14, 06 @ 10:50 am:
White Sox

I would hope that the white sox win total is higher. not because i think they are going to do terribly well, but i am hoping the cubs dont do quite as bad.
- Jaded - Friday, Jul 14, 06 @ 11:22 am:
White Sox wins. The Cubs second half record will be slightly better, and the Sox will have to keep winning to keep pace in the tough AL central.

When I was a boy, they were my pride and joy, but now they only bring fatigue…
I love that song

Now, that’s just mean. GO CUBBIES!
- just watching - Friday, Jul 14, 06 @ 12:19 pm:
cubbie losses they are truely pathetic this year
- Ozzie Guillen - Friday, Jul 14, 06 @ 12:21 pm:
Surely the Sox will have more wins than Cub losses, considering the Cubs’ season will be saved once they hire Lou Pinella as their skipper.

There is always next year…
- Carl Nyberg - Friday, Jul 14, 06 @ 12:52 pm:
Cubs will win more games than the first half b/c of the return of Derrick Lee.
Sox will keep winning b/c pressure from Detroit Tigers and non-playoff competitive teams shedding talent.
Sox win significantly more games than Cubs lose.
- Lincoln Lounger - Friday, Jul 14, 06 @ 2:11 pm:
Go Cardinals!!
- B Hicks - Friday, Jul 14, 06 @ 3:24 pm:
The White Sox wins will be greater.
I got to experience my first White Sox game on July 6th against the Orioles; I can’t wait to go back. I don’t think that there is a bad seat at U.S. Cellular. I was up top in box 526 and still had a great view. I also got the pleasure of watching Thome hit a grand slam and follow it up with a home run at his next up. Chicago is a great town.
- SouthernILRepub - Friday, Jul 14, 06 @ 3:52 pm:
Cardinals wins of course. Sox will start spuddering in about two weeks.
- anon - Friday, Jul 14, 06 @ 4:04 pm:
Cardinals don’t have enough pitching, and they got spanked so bad by the Sox that their manager had to make up a story about sign stealing.
How about, who should already have been fired by now, Dusty Baker or Bradley Tusk?

What’s the over/under for starts from Wood/Prior for the remainder of the year? If it’s more than 1, I’ll take the under.
Go Cardinals!

Cubs just lost #55. They will catch the Sox.
