Constitutional issues aside, that’s a decision for their classroom teachers, not a crew of idle moralists in Springfield with their one-size-fits-all fantasies and their ill-concealed pro-prayer agenda.

* CPS expects to cut 270 teachers

* Duckworth: I’d consider cabinet job

With a Democrat in the White House, Duckworth would likely have sufficient clout to get a job in Washington, possibly even in the Cabinet. Illinois’ senators Democrats Barack Obama and Dick Durbin — one a candidate for president, the other a key Senate leader — were major backers of her unsuccessful suburban congressional campaign.

I say make her Secretary of Defense. She was in the Army, so she should know how to run it.

We need a Commission for Public Service Appointments here in Illinois.

    50th Ward

Interesting, Dolar and Brewer have made their peace. But their alliance demonstrates a commitment to bringing effective leadership in the 50th Ward.

What’s COMPLETELY BONKERS is Aftab’s endorsement of Stone. Some commentors have said Stone will do whatever it takes? But have Aftab come on board? Well, both men do share the strategy of scare tactics.

But jeez louise! It simply doesn’t make sense!
Even Stone supporters are turned off by this alliance.

It’s a pity that Toddler wasn’t selected to serve on a jury for some trial that would have lasted say, two or three months. Having him stuck in a jury box would have been a great improvement for county government, at least for the short while.

Looks like Rockford’s mayor is trying to reinvent the wheel. Why doesn’t he just hire Lon Monk and call it a day?

Republicans should take note of Duckworth’s potential cabinet opportunities, especially younger candidates mulling statewide runs in a blue state.

    You can win for losing.

The Republicans may still win the presidency, but even if they don’t, they’ll be back in power someday with high level jobs to dispense.

Why’s the city of Chicago giving rides to senior citizens? Isn’t that what the CTA’s for — they even have discount tickets for senior citizens. What CTA does not need is competition for customers from the city. If the service isn’t good enough for seniors, then the mayor ought to make CTA fix it.
