we got something from al riley last week. i’m going to scan it and put it up on my blog sometime today. mrs bored got something before new years from riley’s opponent — apparently aimed at women voters (mrs bored and i have different last names, so while we both got the riley piece, only she got the other one).
the riley pieces introduces al riley as a teacher, who “practices what he teaches.” credits him for securing metra and pace funding, property tax reform and job creation: “teaching them the right thing”
Some really poorly designed Footlik mailers… had to unfold and unfold and unfold to get to read a few fluffy sentences and see a guy (I presume Footlike) by a tank. If I weren’t already interested, I wouldn’t have taken the time to pull thing open.
Also some letters and invites from Seals, but I’m already on his volunteer mailing list.

Nothing from State canidates. Obama (campaign) sent me a nice e-mail with a link to his Iowa Speech.

Nuttin’
I think it was too early and there was a fear of the message getting lost over Christmas. I bet there will be a ton in mid-January. Especially considering the concerns associated with the early primary’s potential to lower turnout.
My state rep case is contested and those people are sending out a lot of stuff.
It is interesting that none of them have really caught my eye.
I still don’t have a clue about any of these people.
Not directly from the candidate but AFSCME members got their ‘On the Move’ for January. Cover page is a campaining Obama shot, second page a long letter from Henry Bayer and 3rd page more Obama coverage with details from the People convention in December when Council 31 voted to back Obama. Too long to nutcup, but most can be viewed on AFSCME31 . Locals sent out concerns in their November fliers as to concerns of the national endorse of Clinton and as to whether or not that’s what IL wanted to do. Or than that, I don’t get much until just before primary when volunteers start knocking on my door asking to put signs in my front boulevard, all the property on my street is public/city property except my home, the voting is on one side of the street and my home on the other, I guess they think it’s a last shot for parking voters to see the candidates names.
My mother received a flyer from Rahm Emanuel. I don’t think it was encouraging her to vote for him but, it was an overview of his accomplishments for the 5th district.

Someone was going door to door in Bucktown yesterday with the same judicial candidate piece that I assume they were handing out at the Blue Line stop this morning. Not a good piece - so boring that I didn’t even bother to commit the candidate’s name to memory.
Where’s the mail for the state’s atty race is what I want to know. If I weren’t politically active I would think that Tom Allen is the only one running, rabid dog that he is (see commercial).
Mailers from two of the three candidates for 43rd Ward Dem Committeeman; it’s the Ward race all over again with the Alderman’s chief of staff standing in for her.
I am predicting a 5% turnout in the precinct where I am a judge in Chicago’s Old Town neighborhood - and I may be very optimistic.
I received mailings from J. Behdi who is running against Rickey Hendon. Eddie Winters sent one. He’s going against Rep A. Collins and AFSCME sent one blasting Collins and supporting Winters. Rickey’s people left a blast piece in my door too. All mailings (not Rickey’s) were nicely done but I am supporting AmySue Mertens.
No mailers here in McLean County for the 11th Cong. District. Maybe the Republican candidates are spending their money in the Will County area instead. I’m hearing from moderate Republicans who are not thrilled by any of them.
Are you kidding me?! Politically Astute is clearly an idiot. If you think Rickey put Bedi up to run, then you need to re-read the mailer. In the mailer, Bedi ripped Hendon to shreds. Politically Astute is clearly a Mertens person blogging, since he/she doesn’t even address the question of the day.

donation requests from some campaigns i’ve given money to before, but I’m guessing you’re really referring to advertisements.
Nothing yet. Someone was handing out fliers for a judicial candidate at the Damen Blue Line stop today. I don’t remember who it was for.

Mertens is the only viable candidate in the 5th. Hendon is old news, and Bedi is Hendon’s ticket to hang on against Mertens.

I got Amy’s piece and it had spelling errors. She should hire a proofreader. I haven’t gotten any for state’s attorney either.
