Photoshopping Blagojevich is like animating Jim Carrey, or deep-frying Oreos - too much!

  15. - Wishing Bob and Tom were still syndicated here - Tuesday, Jan 20, 09 @ 11:10 am:

The back story on the photo is available here:

    http://www.bobandtom.com/gen3/index.htm

Don’t know if that’s the original source, but there you go.

  19. - Speaking At Will - Tuesday, Jan 20, 09 @ 11:46 am:

Thus guy is obviously a rookie at this. You have to write public officials a check so they report it on thier D2. That way when you call in your favor, or patronage job, there is a record of the transaction.

  20. - Levois - Tuesday, Jan 20, 09 @ 12:02 pm:

The Governor can be bought for a paltry Andrew Jackson $20 bill!

  21. - lifer - Tuesday, Jan 20, 09 @ 12:11 pm:

    Illinois Works Bill

  22. - zatoichi - Tuesday, Jan 20, 09 @ 12:19 pm:

The Governor used to invite tourists in the office. He tried to be nice and this (bleep) happened. (Bleep) ‘em!

  23. - Mo - Tuesday, Jan 20, 09 @ 12:19 pm:

That lamp is bleeping golden. How much you want for it?

  24. - washmyhands - Tuesday, Jan 20, 09 @ 12:25 pm:

At last, Eddie G’s proof Public Official A accepts no bribes or gratuities for faithful public service.

  25. - Inish Mein - Tuesday, Jan 20, 09 @ 12:32 pm:

Okay, fine just pay me my fee and you can have a photo.”

  27. - The KQ - Tuesday, Jan 20, 09 @ 12:56 pm:

Come on, I am only a teacher and don’t make a lot of money! A $20 has to be enough!

  28. - Big Caddyshack Fan - Tuesday, Jan 20, 09 @ 1:03 pm:

Al Czervik: Hey! Can you make a Bullshot?
Tony D’Annunzio: Can you make a shoe smell?
Al Czervik: Very funny. Why don’t you get yourself a real haircut? Here, take this.

  29. - Ahem - Tuesday, Jan 20, 09 @ 1:05 pm:

Blago: “This is a joke, right? He was joking?”

  30. - Reality Check - Tuesday, Jan 20, 09 @ 1:08 pm:

it’s bad enough that the Gov has many real legal/ehtical problems to deal with, do we really need a photoshopped picture too? Is it open season for these kinda pranks in this forum? Wow!! Tasteless, pathetic, unethical and dangerous.

  31. - Rich Miller - Tuesday, Jan 20, 09 @ 1:10 pm:

    Reality Check, take a breath.

  32. - Lefty Lefty - Tuesday, Jan 20, 09 @ 1:14 pm:

Future Illinois Teacher of the Year hopeful Paul Aplington demonstrates “pay to play” to his students.

  33. - Pot calling kettle - Tuesday, Jan 20, 09 @ 1:17 pm:

    Story here…http://www.pantagraph.com/blogs/main/?p=3386#more-3386

If you believe it. It includes this unlikely scenario: “one day last winter was part of a classroom field trip to the state capitol where, just as they were strolling past the governor’s office, Rod Blagojevich himself walked out…”

Since when has the Gov. ever been in his Capitol office long enough to invite someone in?

My caption: “A twenty? I’d rather have some f*****g gratitude! Just kidding, give me that!”

  34. - Rich Miller - Tuesday, Jan 20, 09 @ 1:21 pm:

In other words, Reality Check, you can take your claims that the photo was PhotoShopped and therefore unethical and stick it somewhere that I won’t mention.

  35. - HoosierDaddy - Tuesday, Jan 20, 09 @ 1:24 pm:

20 bucks? Forget it! But for another $4,980.00 we can talk about that job as state port-a-potty inspector!

  36. - Belle - Tuesday, Jan 20, 09 @ 1:30 pm:

Reality Check - yes we must have humor PS’ed or not. He earned it. caption “See, proof positive I do not take payoffs. See? He’s offering it to me and I’m not touching it! This picture is worth a thousand Fitzgerald bleeping wire taps!”

  37. - zatoichi - Tuesday, Jan 20, 09 @ 1:33 pm:

“Tasteless, pathetic, unethical and dangerous.” Where do I sign up!

  38. - Thomas Westgard - Tuesday, Jan 20, 09 @ 1:55 pm:

“Thanks for the $20, Governor! Now I can go get hair just like yours!”

  39. - Secret Square - Tuesday, Jan 20, 09 @ 2:06 pm:

Pot, it has been known to happen once in a while. I witnessed one such instance myself (not the one in the picture though).

  40. - The Mad Hatter - Tuesday, Jan 20, 09 @ 2:13 pm:

Damn you Fitzgerald! you’re cutting into my profits!

  41. - 4 percent - Tuesday, Jan 20, 09 @ 2:33 pm:

It is funny but probably not a good example from a teacher and role model who was escorting kids around the Capitol.

  42. - Keep Smiling - Tuesday, Jan 20, 09 @ 2:36 pm:

Pot and Belle, boy do the two of you know your Gov! - LOL

    Wiggle.. Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle!

  43. - the Patriot - Tuesday, Jan 20, 09 @ 2:47 pm:

“I said I wanted a tryout with Randy Jackson, not that I would start taking sit downs for Andy Jacksons”

  44. - Chambananon - Tuesday, Jan 20, 09 @ 3:47 pm:

I suspect the only photoshopped part of this is the part involving Blago actually being IN the Governor’s Office while being offered the cash…

  45. - downhereforyears - Tuesday, Jan 20, 09 @ 3:55 pm:

But Governor, I only want to play for a few minute. It can’t cost more than this.

Reality check, I agree with Rich….it’s quiet time now.

  46. - Anonymous - Tuesday, Jan 20, 09 @ 4:09 pm:

    ===================

I dare say that IF someone were using something like this “unethically” and “dangerously”, you’d probably hear most–if not all–of us, calling that person out, regardless of party affiliation.

That is, if Rich hadn’t yet gotten around to nipping it through, who knows, may be the use of his favorite phrase.

  47. - How Ironic - Tuesday, Jan 20, 09 @ 4:13 pm:

I’d take your money, but I think I see a kitty!

  48. - Belle - Tuesday, Jan 20, 09 @ 4:49 pm:

Now that I think of it Pot is onto somethng! He only recently found his office, right? No way can we expect him to find his way to the ‘open office’ the Senate had for him yesterday!! Not his fault at all! I’m sure he would have been there if he coulda found it…and Springfield again. LOL

  49. - wordslinger - Tuesday, Jan 20, 09 @ 5:30 pm:

Reality Check, thanks for looking out for us all these years. Keep up the good work.

  50. - Horace Mann - Tuesday, Jan 20, 09 @ 9:55 pm:

“Here, Governor, let me give you this directly. It’s cheaper for both of us than if I pay it as a “voluntary” PAC contribution through the union.”

  51. - Quizzical - Tuesday, Jan 20, 09 @ 10:37 pm:

Damn that camera, I’d take that twenty and put the guy on a board if the camera wasn’t here. Avoiding temptation while in front of a camera is very hard. I look too good, that’s why they always want my picture. Is that a kitty? I can’t wait to get back to my den, where I’m free to take cash.

  52. - I"m just saying :) - Tuesday, Jan 20, 09 @ 10:45 pm:

    to some of you guys

    Lighten up Francis :)

  53. - Highland, IL - Wednesday, Jan 21, 09 @ 8:26 am:

Pee Wee Herman gives the Gov a loan.

  54. - stones - Wednesday, Jan 21, 09 @ 9:51 am:

Love it - photoshopped or not!

  55. - downstate demo - Wednesday, Jan 21, 09 @ 10:46 am:

Can I be Director of what for twenty please……
