Wednesday, Dec 16, 2009 - Posted by Rich Miller * Did you think I forgot? Nope. Just distracted with actual work. The video quality ain’t that great, but the tune is awesome. Ladies and gentlemen, the Ramones… How’s your shopping going?

Made some progress online today, although it was stuff mostly for myself. Still need some odds/ends for the Mrs. and assorted niece/nephews.
Question for Cap Fax readers: Are gift cards the coward’s way out (thoughtless, last minute) or can they be viewed as more dignified than cash stuffed in an envelope? I don’t want to be a cad, but I’m out of time and won’t be able to find the “perfect” gift for some of those on my list.
Is it OK to go with gift cards or will I be the Grinch this year?
PS-Love the Ramones. Thanks.

Rich - I’ve been searching the youtube for the best version of this song for a couple of days now and even though the quality is pretty awful this is the best that’s out there.
47th - Gift cards are fine for the nieces and nephews but not for the wife - it could turn nasty and as joey would say “Christmas ain’t the time for breaking each other’s hearts”

Rich,
If you’re now going to entertain Christmas classics reinterpreted by punk/rock heroes, then please, for the love of all that is holy, have some respect for what is surely the greatest rock cover a Christmas classic ever.
Of course, I’m talking about Twisted Sister’s rendition of “Come All Ye Faithful”! Please, I challenge any rock Christmas cover to out-rock that one. Mere mortals, all.
Here ye, here ye! All bow for the raw Christmas power of Mr. Sister!

Rich - I missed the Christmas song extravaganza yesterday. I think your readers would appreciate Christmas in Prison by John Prine.

Sorry. New to this and I seem to be having difficulties. Please enjoy Prine.

I Like “Mele Kalikimacka” by Der Bingle, with the Andrews Sisters.
Or “Hardrock, Coco, and Joe”, which WGN used to play every day when I came home from school to watch Garfield Goose & Friends.

Haven’t started yet. Major cancer scare with Mom, followed by major surgery. Father in law had stroke, Mother in law has Alzheimers - other health issues with me and a full time job - OY! Is it Christmas already? Time flies!(even when you aren’t having fun.) Mom’s surgery went well and Father in law much better. Both are at their respective homes. First I will sleep, then I will shop.
