* From CBS2 we have the full video of Mark Kirk’s press conference today. Watch it…
…Adding… The video is stalling out at the 3:09 mark. They’re working on it. Meanwhile, NBC5 has some edited videos…
* Kirk: “Admit the Mistakes, Own Them, Fix Them” In this condensed and edited video, GOP Senate candidate Mark Kirk apologizes for his mistakes and vows to improve and maintain full disclosure.
Pretty solid. Obviously Alexi’s campaign will still try to make hay out of it, particularly in TV spots in September/October. But as far as stopping some of the bleeding in the media goes, it should do it’s job. I expect another 24-48 hours of media op-eds for folks to re-hash today’s presser, and then largely put the issue to bed for awhile.
As a constituent, I would have preferred to see him in Washington today, allegedly representing me in today’s voting, rather than representing only himself by playing pack-the-presser.
I say allegedly, because I don’t suspect he would have voted the way I would have liked on the unemployment extensions. My wife and I are kind of screwed until they are renewed.
So Mark Kirk is going to be more careful with his lying in the future. Got it.
How dumb does this guy think we are? His whole press conference about his dishonesty problem was just a big heaping plate of more dishonesty. Seriously, this guy needs to see someone.
Bean isn’t my rep, Sally. As a Democrat who has to get herself reelected in a far more heavily Republican-leaning district than the 10th, I am willing to cut her some slack. Besides, unemployed? In Barrington? Perish the thought!
Actually, 4%, I am being pragmatic in recognizing that given the political makeup of the 8th district, Bean is about as liberal a representative as we can get elected. Better her than Phil Crane.

Dr… So our congressmen should only make votes to get reelected instead of the public policy argument? Glad we know where you stand.

Rich,
That NBC video is only Kirk’s speech to his adoring fans.
No Q+A from the heckled reporters.
