He’s the alleged Republican who is running against House Speaker Michael Madigan, even though his voting record is solidly Democratic and he works for the city. Kass tried to talk to the guy earlier this week, but ended up speaking with his parents…
* The Question: What would be an appropriate slogan for “Republican” Patrick John Ryan’s “campaign”? Snark heavily encouraged, of course.

It’s probably very similar to the only conversation that Madigan ever had with young Patrick John Ryan of the 23rd Ward: “You will not win. You will never serve. But you have a purpose.”
I give Madigan points for style and subtlety. I would have gone with Patrick John Sean Brian Francis Xavier Matthew Seamus Eamon Michael Collins O’Ryan.
The O’Ryan would have been way over the top.
