The flags of the state now seem permanently at half-staff to honor fallen Illinois soldiers, many teens and twenties, on the days of their funerals.
Somehow, that doesn’t make me want to rush out and buy that hot new video game “Call of Duty: Black Ops” where you can pretend to be a solider in Afghanistan. I almost got sick seeing the spots for it on Veterans Day.

I am very pleased to learn of the departure of Kevin Methany from WGN. I’ve missed listening to what used to be my favorite radio station in the face of the seriously deteriorated quality from what it was five years ago.
