Fight Rate Increases – Vote Yes on Comprehensive Energy Efficiency and Investment Act (SB 1653)

“The reason: Pending environmental regulations will make coal-fired generating plants, which produce about half the nation’s electricity, more expensive to operate. Many are expected to be shuttered.” Because of these closures, nearly double digit rate increases are already set to begin in 2014 - more will come unless we act. Illinois legislators have a choice. They can protect consumers by voting for the Comprehensive Energy Efficiency and Investment Act (SB 1653). Highlights include:
