* From a blast e-mail…
Dear Friends:
As Evelyn and I continue to roll out our plans to shake up Springfield, we want to make sure you know about our next big step.
Step One in our “Bring Back Blueprint” is putting term limits on career politicians. Step Two is cutting wasteful spending and reforming state government. And now we’re getting ready to unveil Step Three.
Since you are a key part of our team, we want you to be the first to see what’s next when we roll it out later today. With so many people around Illinois using social media to communicate, we are going to release our next step on Twitter and Facebook. If you haven’t already, you’ll want to click here to like our Facebook page and to follow us on Twitter, click here.
And be sure to invite your friends to follow us on social media too so they don’t miss out.
Together, we are going to bring back Illinois!
Bruce
Considering how poorly conceived and executed his “chicken budget” presser was, I’m not exactly holding my breath.

Social media is safer than facing questions.
So maybe Bruce and “Slip and Sue” are hiding the pixie dust magic and chicken cages fir Step Four; Baloney Sandwiches.
- Oswego Willy - Wednesday, Jun 25, 14 @ 12:58 pm:
Maybe “Step Five” has “Slip and Sue” stand before the press, and turn them into chickens, while using the Pixie Dust to make Quinnocchio a real boy.
Of course that will flop too when Evelyn slips on the stage and sues every major media attending.
- Formerly Known As... - Wednesday, Jun 25, 14 @ 1:01 pm:
Those were steps one and two in the master plan to apply salve on Illinois’ many ailments?
Those seemed more like sideshow acts more than the basis of serious plan.
Maybe step 3 is where we roll out the “real” stuff? No?
- Formerly Known As... - Wednesday, Jun 25, 14 @ 1:03 pm:
How many steps are in the plan?
12?
- sal-says - Wednesday, Jun 25, 14 @ 1:03 pm:
‘Like him on Facebook…’ Not a chance here.
Doesn’t he have a real campaign website to post it on?
Can Step Three be reduced to 1140 characters? HaHa HaHaHa.
- Oswego Willy - Wednesday, Jun 25, 14 @ 1:07 pm:
I had hope to catch his plan on Instagram…
- Oswego Willy - Wednesday, Jun 25, 14 @ 1:08 pm:
Will Bruce and “Slip and Sue” take questions via “Snap-Chat”?
- Norseman - Wednesday, Jun 25, 14 @ 1:08 pm:
He’s right, he is shaking up Springfield. My friends, family and I are still shaking from laughter after seeing the stupidity of steps one and two.
- Stones - Wednesday, Jun 25, 14 @ 1:08 pm:
Also it allows for the screening of questions and responses that wouldn’t occur at a live presser.
- Oswego Willy - Wednesday, Jun 25, 14 @ 1:10 pm:
At least Rauner and “Slip and Sue” aren’t asking voters to “swipe right” on Tinder…
- Tom - Wednesday, Jun 25, 14 @ 1:11 pm:
1)Collect Underpants
2) ?
3)Profit
- CirularFiringSquad - Wednesday, Jun 25, 14 @ 1:12 pm:
Ok
Step 1 unconstitutional
Step 2 Panned by even his ReBoot Lap dogs
Step 3 “Announces Dropping Out”
PQ wins —- yikes
And we still have BizWiz’s 400 deals to probe
- Oswego Willy - Wednesday, Jun 25, 14 @ 1:13 pm:
Doing it via “the Web” allows Bruce to basically be any and everywhere, taking the voters and Press to a dead end.
So there’s that…
- A guy... - Wednesday, Jun 25, 14 @ 1:17 pm:
It doesn’t meet the standard of a free lunch on a Friday, but I’ll keep an ear out for the tweet.
- Wensicia - Wednesday, Jun 25, 14 @ 1:25 pm:
So, besides the Raunerbots and capitol reporters, who’s gonna hear this message? I understand, though, he can’t afford another disastrous public press conference. You’ll never see this guy in front of the press again.
- Norseman - Wednesday, Jun 25, 14 @ 1:32 pm:
=== It doesn’t meet the standard of a free lunch on a Friday … ===
Rich, is Raunervich chicken on the diet?
- The Hog's Hairpiece - Wednesday, Jun 25, 14 @ 1:34 pm:
You tell ‘em Oswego “Every other Post” Willy.
- Oswego Willy - Wednesday, Jun 25, 14 @ 1:40 pm:
- The Hog’s Hairpiece -,
If they would have listened to others in the first place, there wouldn’t be anything to Mock…
- Redux - Wednesday, Jun 25, 14 @ 1:51 pm:
Maybe step three is Candy Crush Saga.
- Ron Burgundy - Wednesday, Jun 25, 14 @ 1:54 pm:
Wish it was like the old Skynyrd song:
Gimme three steps
Gimme three steps mister
Gimme three steps toward the door
Gimme three steps
Gimme three steps mister
And you’ll never see me no more.
Can’t get that lucky though.

“Step Six hundred forty-three - take pictures with chickens…again…so people forget Steps One thru Six hundred forty-two”
- testicular virility - Wednesday, Jun 25, 14 @ 1:59 pm:
Is “step three” the same as “third base” in dating terms? If so, yikes!
- How Ironic - Wednesday, Jun 25, 14 @ 2:05 pm:
Step 3 is a 7 step process to release steps 4-5, to be followed by a ‘pause’ in order for all the steps to be absorbed. Shortly after the pause steps 6-19 will be released daily by carrier pigeons.
- How Ironic - Wednesday, Jun 25, 14 @ 2:06 pm:
And I should add, is this how a ‘business’ does its work? Did Brucie release all of his daily directives in such a convoluted manner? Lord help us if he actually wins.
- Jerome Horwitz - Wednesday, Jun 25, 14 @ 2:09 pm:
I think that I missed the details in step two. Can anybody help me understand the details of step two?
- Anyone Remember - Wednesday, Jun 25, 14 @ 2:12 pm:
Let’s hope Step 3 doesn’t produce the same result as the pre Walter Payton Chicago Bear’s offense … “1 2 3 Punt!”
- Oswego Willy - Wednesday, Jun 25, 14 @ 2:20 pm:
===I think that I missed the details in step two. Can anybody help me understand the details of step two?===
The first step was admitting his campaign has problems with policy.
The second step was proving that in front of the cameras.

Can’t wait for another show from Bruce “nothing up my sleeve. presto” Rauner and his assistant Evelyn.
- Mister Whipple - Wednesday, Jun 25, 14 @ 2:34 pm:
Reform the EDGE credit and close tax loopholes. Do all that and we could cut the deficit down to $3.9 billion! Lead on, Bruce!
- lil enchilada - Wednesday, Jun 25, 14 @ 2:41 pm:
Bring Illinois back from where? I thought it was still nestled between Iowa and Indiana…
- Anonymous - Wednesday, Jun 25, 14 @ 3:27 pm:
Give me a break. “as Evelyn and I continue to roll out our plans….” That sentence alone is the very definition of sleazy sham political b.s…. It’s a very minor thing comparatively, but it says it all as well.
- Amalia - Wednesday, Jun 25, 14 @ 4:01 pm:
chicken budget presser gave visions of the magic scenes in Desperately Seeking Susan.
- Arthur Andersen - Wednesday, Jun 25, 14 @ 4:11 pm:
Willy, you forgot “Vine.” Six seconds should be plenty of time to explain Step 3.
- Oswego Willy - Wednesday, Jun 25, 14 @ 4:28 pm:
Sorry - AA -, I am glad you caught the Vine miss…
That video would be priceless with a magic trick by “Slip and Sue”!
- walker - Wednesday, Jun 25, 14 @ 5:46 pm:
Step 3: “Reform Corporate Welfare”
Wow. Bruce just took over a Progressive Label and meme for his campaign.
Details: 1. “Reform EDGE Tax credits.”
He doesn’t say end them. Old news stories are referenced to show that money has been wasted. No actual reforms, corrections, or ideas detailed or outlined. (Just like in his Step 2 Budget Savings Plan)
2. “End Corporate Tax Loopholes”.
Surprise, surprise! Actual tax loopholes are named which should be removed, including for the oil industry, for large corporations with complex structures, and for fancy yachts and airplanes. Where numbers are provided they seem to total a claimed potential save of around $120M. (Some look like they could be maintained by moving corporate entities technically to other states.)
More symbolic than substantial given our fiscal needs — but a start. At least he specified something real for the first time in his campaign, and not at all what the Koch Bros and their friends would want.
More than I expected.
The first detail of anything proposed with numbers provided by Rauner. At least that’s a start.
- A. Nonymous - Thursday, Jun 26, 14 @ 8:14 am:
So his step 1 is term limits … for everyone but the Gov and other executive branches.
Is he planning to add a hippo(crite) to go with his chickens.
I’m sure the Rauner Tribune will go ga-ga for taking away their paper subsidy.
- Just The Way It Is One - Thursday, Jun 26, 14 @ 4:35 pm:
Synonym for what Rauner will release: Step “Whatever.” Sure not expectin’ much after those Sophomoric efforts in Steps “1 and 2…”(!)
