Hopefully, our problems are behind us
Monday, Oct 27, 2014 - Posted by Rich Miller * We had so many site outages last week, mainly from crushing traffic, that my hosting company recommended some changes. Here’s what they did…
Whatever that is, I hope it works. Just thought you’d like to know.

They should have put foil on the rabbit ears. That always worked for me.

thanks for the work! was sad when it went down.

And your proxy server’s front end is now nice and shiny.

It’s all G(r)eek to me. As long it does whatever they say it will do to keep your database caching and querying.

I’ll cancel the order with ALCOA for more foil. Probably face a restocking fee from a minimum wage work force.

Damn raunerbots hogging all your bandwidth. Lol
- MrJM - Monday, Oct 27, 14 @ 3:32 pm:

I came here to make a joke about shellacking, but Gantt Chart beat me and so I will retreat in shame.

Works for me…
- RNUG - Monday, Oct 27, 14 @ 5:37 pm:
Rich, that should make a difference in the load the back-end server has to carry. Kind of surprised your hosting site wasn’t already doing that since it’s a relatively cheap way to handle higher volumes if part of the data is unchanging.

It might be helpful if you post a message about the site being down on your twitter page etc. the next time the site is down for an extended time.
