*** LIVE ELECTION NIGHT COVERAGE *** Results, Video, Updates
Tuesday, Nov 4, 2014 - Posted by Rich Miller * I’ll be adding to these categories in a bit as some links don’t appear to be live yet. Let’s start with election results…
* Live TV…
* I’m going to do something different tonight and put election results into our ScribbleLive news feed so you won’t have have several different posts open all at once. But pay attention, because things will move by pretty darned fast. I’ll put all winners into a separate post and update that as we go along. Have fun, campers…

2010 was the year of the Tea Party too. Interested to see how similar returns are this year.
- Original Rambler - Tuesday, Nov 4, 14 @ 7:28 pm:
Rauner 19% in north/northwest side precinct.
- Cabildero - Tuesday, Nov 4, 14 @ 7:32 pm:
Rauner winning 2 central/southern il counties by 56%
- Snucka - Tuesday, Nov 4, 14 @ 7:38 pm:
Doesn’t look good for Quinn.
- Dwight K. Schrute - Tuesday, Nov 4, 14 @ 7:43 pm:
CNN exit polls look pretty good for Quinn, considering everything else today.

Can someone answer if exit polling factors in the early votes or not?
- Andy Nymous - Tuesday, Nov 4, 14 @ 7:43 pm:
My mom received what she said was a very anti-Hillary Clinton push poll late today. Already?
- ZC - Tuesday, Nov 4, 14 @ 7:44 pm:
The collar counties are 25% of the electorate? Huh? That sounds low to me … Not sure how much stock yet to put in this exit poll.
- Anonymous - Tuesday, Nov 4, 14 @ 7:45 pm:
==Can someone answer if exit polling factors in the early votes or not?==
Exit polls are polling of people at the polling sights, so no they wouldn’t
- Rich Miller - Tuesday, Nov 4, 14 @ 7:51 pm:
===The collar counties are 25% of the electorate? Huh? That sounds low to me===
That’s actually a bit too high. http://illinoiselectiondata.com/elections/ILprofile.php
- Robert Lincon - Tuesday, Nov 4, 14 @ 7:56 pm:
In the precincts reporting, Rauner is scoring better than JBT. That has to be very good for Rauner or bad for all Republicans as a whole.
- Carroll County - Tuesday, Nov 4, 14 @ 7:56 pm:
Prelim FYI from single precinct of 128 voters in downstate Carroll County, unofficial, of course. It is the only one reported as of my page load at 7:41pm.
Voting Rights 62% for
Birth Control 57% for
Millionaire Tax 55% for
Oberweis 55% for
Rauner 69% for
Judy Baar 62% for
Schilling 51% for
Local School 1%-Sales Tax 52% against
Looking at the spread between Rauner and Schilling, it is showing me that Rauner could be strong downstate, in a precinct that is barely voting against incumbent congresswoman Bustos. She wins big tonight when Rock Island county gets counted.
Rauner probably wins too if such intensity is out there elsewhere. He is well ahead of JBT, who is very popular.
Obviously this is only one precinct, and from the county website I can’t tell which one, so take it for what its worth. I think it says the most for Bustos going home the winner.
- Rich Miller - Tuesday, Nov 4, 14 @ 7:58 pm:
===Prelim FYI from single precinct of 128 voters in downstate Carroll County===
Dude, don’t do that again. It’s super silly.
- Just Observing - Tuesday, Nov 4, 14 @ 7:59 pm:
Wow… Rep. Scott Drury may lose.
Rep. Sam Yingling is ahead by a nose.
- Carroll County - Tuesday, Nov 4, 14 @ 8:01 pm:
No prob, I think Bustos is looking great if she barely lost here, thats the main message. Sorry Rich.
- ThatGirl - Tuesday, Nov 4, 14 @ 8:20 pm:
When are they going to call this for Rauner ? The fat lady has sung the song already !
- kimaye - Tuesday, Nov 4, 14 @ 8:26 pm:
ThatGirl, pass that over here, i’m down. lol
- Angry Chicagoan - Tuesday, Nov 4, 14 @ 8:29 pm:
What on earth is going on with these results? At 22 percent reporting, White is being reported as losing 25 percent to 72 to the Republican for Secretary of State — behind even Sheila Simon. And all these left-leaning ballot measures passing. These numbers are simply beyond bizarre.
- Angry Chicagoan - Tuesday, Nov 4, 14 @ 8:31 pm:
And meanwhile, over at the Tribune’s election center, normal service restored; White with 69 percent of the vote. Someone must have called in or added up a bum set of results to the AP, and some of the TV stations and the NY Times put them up.
- foster brooks - Tuesday, Nov 4, 14 @ 8:32 pm:
bye bye oberwiess
- Mike - Tuesday, Nov 4, 14 @ 8:35 pm:
I think the ABC7Chicago.com results has them backwards.
- anonano - Tuesday, Nov 4, 14 @ 8:37 pm:
With 44% of the precincts reporting in Sangamon County, Rauner has a bigger lead than Lisa Madigan has. Oberweis has the lead over Durbin in Durbin’s home county.
- AC - Tuesday, Nov 4, 14 @ 8:44 pm:
Who are these Rauner supporting, pro minimum wage referendum voters? The Sun Times can’t have that many people employed across the state, can they?
- Regnad Kcin - Tuesday, Nov 4, 14 @ 8:59 pm:
I hear that Frank Mautino is not doing well.
- Percival - Tuesday, Nov 4, 14 @ 9:01 pm:
Rauner at over 21 percent of the Chicago vote is the most interesting number so far. If he can hold that he will be very tough to beat.
- Kasich Walker, Jr. - Tuesday, Nov 4, 14 @ 9:04 pm:
60% needed in Florida for the constitutional amendment legalizing medical cannabis.
420radio currently showing only 57.4% yes.
- Almost Right - Tuesday, Nov 4, 14 @ 9:05 pm:
Congratulations to Jesse White for winning his sixth term, Very impressive, since he was running for the fifth time.

This. If that number holds, that’s a huge increase from 2010 from Brady, and even Kirk
- Percival - Tuesday, Nov 4, 14 @ 9:10 pm:
Quinn looks to be in serious trouble. He’s got 70 percent of the Chicago vote in but is up only 50-47 statewide.
- Percival - Tuesday, Nov 4, 14 @ 9:19 pm:
Now it is nearly even at 58 percent statewide, but 75 percent of Chicago counted. Quinn now is in serious trouble, not just looking.
- hisgirlfriday - Tuesday, Nov 4, 14 @ 9:23 pm:
@Percival -
I agree Quinn looks in trouble, but I think you may be looking at 75 percent of Cook County in, not 75 percent of Chicago in.

- Joe Blow - Tuesday, Nov 4, 14 @ 9:47 pm:
