Great flick. The old Fine Arts on South Michigan used to have a midnight show every Friday or Saturday back in the day. Get primed across the street in the park, then enjoy the show.
…Get primed across the street in the park, then enjoy the show.
Just when I think I had you pegged Word, you say something like this and completely redeem yourself.
If you’re into rock movies, check out “Shut up and Play the Hits” which chronicles the last show by LCD Soundsystem at MSG. I watched it reluctantly, (Mrs. Lobo was a huge fan) and was hooked.
Lobo, “Hail, Hail, Rock and Roll,” the Chuck Berry tribute at the Fox in St. Louis, is worth it just for the fights between Chuck and Keith Richards during rehearsals.
Chuck played his songs at a slower tempo live. His recordings had been sped up. Keith wanted check to pick up the tempo, and the fight was on…..
The song is so on target for all that is happening/not happening/should be happening.
These guys were the best.
I never turn down a chance to turn up the volume on this song.

This ain’t no party, this ain’t no disco,
This ain’t no fooling around
No time for dancing, or lovey dovey,
I ain’t got time for that now

You never disappoint with the music, Rich.
Well played.

Brilliant band, brilliant song, brilliant choice.
Does anyone have any questions?

Love me some Talking Heads. I guess “Once in a Lifetime” would not be appropriate since it really isn’t “Same as it ever was.”
- Skeptic - Tuesday, Jun 9, 15 @ 9:37 am:
Absolutely one of, if not THE best rock and roll movie ever. I wasn’t much of a Talking Heads fan until I saw it.

Awesome song choice
- Bicycle boy - Tuesday, Jun 9, 15 @ 10:25 am:
Great song, one of their best. David Byrne’s bicycle diaries about riding in Chicago (other cities too) and going through the different neighborhoods is just as good as the Talking Heads music. http://articles.chicagotribune.com/2009-09-24/entertainment/0909230560_1_bike-riding-millennium-park

The live show is amazingly on point. A spoof of disco, when people are getting shot. Never saw it before.

It’s time for the BIG SUIT.

Everytime I hear this song I can smell *incense* and stale beer.
