  1. - Archiesmom - Tuesday, Aug 4, 15 @ 2:38 pm:

Just a tad bit hyperbolic? It’s as if Sam Adams returned.

  2. - A guy - Tuesday, Aug 4, 15 @ 2:38 pm:

Nothing is at stake. Nothing at all. So, you needn’t fight on.

  3. - Wordslinger - Tuesday, Aug 4, 15 @ 2:40 pm:

What else is he going to do? He still has a lot of time to kill.

  4. - Shark Sandwich - Tuesday, Aug 4, 15 @ 2:41 pm:

Kind of poignant and sad, in a way. Reminds me of the poor Japanese soldier they found on a deserted island a decade or more after the war was over, he had to be convinced there was no more fighting to be done.

  5. - Anonymous - Tuesday, Aug 4, 15 @ 2:41 pm:

Time for another poll about reducing his sentence as it is clear that time served has not produced the humility we all hoped he would gain.

  6. - Give Me A Break - Tuesday, Aug 4, 15 @ 2:42 pm:

Somewhere right now a new brush being prepared for service.

  7. - Tomlinson Times - Tuesday, Aug 4, 15 @ 2:43 pm:

I thought what was at stake was prison time? Hmm.. Maybe I missed something.

  8. - VanillaMan - Tuesday, Aug 4, 15 @ 2:45 pm:

Who the hell is Rod Blagojevich?

  9. - Tournaround Agenda - Tuesday, Aug 4, 15 @ 2:50 pm:

Oh Rod, your cause is just. Someday, your sale of a Senate seat will be recognized as the civil rights battle of our era, eclipsing the gay marriage ruling.

  10. - All the answers - Tuesday, Aug 4, 15 @ 2:50 pm:

Perhaps Blago’s point is: If I’m in this hell hole everyone else who pays to play should be too.

  11. - A guy - Tuesday, Aug 4, 15 @ 2:55 pm:

    === VanillaMan - Tuesday, Aug 4, 15 @ 2:45 pm:

Who the hell is Rod Blagojevich?===

The gift from Dick Mell that will never stop giving. ugh.

  12. - Norseman - Tuesday, Aug 4, 15 @ 2:55 pm:

This self-professed average student never cared what the rule of law was before. Let him ponder that point a lot longer.

  13. - Austin Blvd - Tuesday, Aug 4, 15 @ 3:01 pm:

    Rich,
Don’t understand your penchant to be dismissive of those characters who provided drama and suspense for all these years.
In fact, if I recall correctly, you even got on a bus with him and thought he was an OK guy for awhile there.
How can a guy like Blagojevich ever truly go away?
    Where’s your sentimentality?

  14. - Bogey Golfer - Tuesday, Aug 4, 15 @ 3:03 pm:

Quoting Bugs Bunny: What a maroon!!!

  15. - Rich Miller - Tuesday, Aug 4, 15 @ 3:03 pm:

    === Where’s your sentimentality? ===

    It vanished with his arrest.

  16. - vole - Tuesday, Aug 4, 15 @ 3:04 pm:

Is cannabis legal in Colorado prisons?

  17. - Southern Illinois Hoopdee - Tuesday, Aug 4, 15 @ 3:09 pm:

Let him keep talking, as a monument to what got us all in this mess in the first place.

  18. - Louis G. Atsaves - Tuesday, Aug 4, 15 @ 3:11 pm:

Although it pains me to say this, he has every right to fight on to the bitter end.

  19. - Not it - Tuesday, Aug 4, 15 @ 3:12 pm:

I hope he gets out in time to run for the U.S. Senate seat he tried to sell. That would be the best reality television ever.

  20. - JS Mill - Tuesday, Aug 4, 15 @ 3:22 pm:

    His fight, my apathy.

  21. - Huh? - Tuesday, Aug 4, 15 @ 3:23 pm:

Vole - pot is legal in Colorado. However since Blagojevich is in federal prison, pot would be considered contraband and cause for more time in prison. We could only hope …

  22. - Anonymous - Tuesday, Aug 4, 15 @ 3:27 pm:

A repellent person that never stops repelling

  23. - south side - Tuesday, Aug 4, 15 @ 3:27 pm:

“…nothing less than the rule of law” This is @#%!! golden.

  24. - Apocalypse Now - Tuesday, Aug 4, 15 @ 3:28 pm:

I am looking forward to see his new hairdo and those prison tattoos.

  25. - BIG R. Ph. - Tuesday, Aug 4, 15 @ 3:28 pm:

Ahem….Hrrrmph…Cough, Cough (Choking with laughter will now cease)

  26. - Hoping for Rational Thought - Tuesday, Aug 4, 15 @ 3:29 pm:

Can we send him to a prison in Iran? North Korea? Then we will never hear from him again.

  27. - Wensicia - Tuesday, Aug 4, 15 @ 3:43 pm:

I guess you “live for the fight when that’s all that you’ve got”.

  28. - IllinoisBoi - Tuesday, Aug 4, 15 @ 3:50 pm:

The rule of law? As a rule, you can’t break the law without consequences.

  29. - Stones - Tuesday, Aug 4, 15 @ 3:54 pm:

Clearly Rod is still full of himself.

  30. - PolPal56 - Tuesday, Aug 4, 15 @ 4:12 pm:

Quoting Bill the Cat: “ACK! THBBFT!”

  31. - 47th Ward - Tuesday, Aug 4, 15 @ 4:19 pm:

His best hope is that President Trump will commute his sentence in a couple of years.

  32. - zatoichi - Tuesday, Aug 4, 15 @ 4:19 pm:

His only fight is for more hair dye.

  33. - Wordslinger - Tuesday, Aug 4, 15 @ 4:29 pm:

    – His best hope is that President Trump will commute his sentence in a couple of years.–

    That would be Yooooge!

  34. - Anonymous Redux - Tuesday, Aug 4, 15 @ 4:29 pm:

    Is cannabis legal…

Any drug available on the street is available in any Prison…ask any Convict.

    but…Rod doesn’t need dope… He’s still(quite obviously) high on…Himself.

Go Rod!…back to the dorm…and do your time like a Man.

  35. - A guy - Tuesday, Aug 4, 15 @ 4:33 pm:

I think someone needs to take a look at whatever book he’s reading that he’s been calling the Bible.

  36. - RNUG - Tuesday, Aug 4, 15 @ 5:15 pm:

    /s

Boy, all I wanted was to sell one US Senate seat. Now this Rauner guy has bought the entire IL GOP with all it’s seats, and nobody got in trouble. It just isn’t fair!

  37. - Anonymous - Tuesday, Aug 4, 15 @ 6:17 pm:

And here’s to the guy that sent the steaks from the fair and chickens

  38. - Former Program Specialist - Tuesday, Aug 4, 15 @ 10:01 pm:

It is very interesting that the many readers of Capital Fax who voted for Rod, sought jobs from him, contributed to him, and so on…long after the political establishment knew exactly who he was…are so eager to brush this under the table.

This is a free country and he has every right to further appeal his sentence.

How about some readers of Capitol Fax coming clean on their own sins during the Blog years?

  39. - RNUG - Tuesday, Aug 4, 15 @ 10:04 pm:

== How about some readers of Capitol Fax coming clean on their own sins during the Blog years? ==

I wasn’t ready to retire, but I took the 2002 ERI rather than work for Blago.

  40. - Wordslinger - Tuesday, Aug 4, 15 @ 10:07 pm:

I sinned during the Blago years. I found myself taking the Lord’s name in vain quite a bit.

  41. - G'Kar - Tuesday, Aug 4, 15 @ 11:48 pm:

I think RNUG at 5:15 won the Internet today.

  42. - Zog - Wednesday, Aug 5, 15 @ 10:02 am:

You know that is not his real hair. He hires a small animal which nests on his head.
