Rauner opposes unions (which is people/citizens/taxpayers affixed with a label to dehumaize them) from controling schools. He wants schools controlled by wealthy businessmen seeking to grow their exhorbitant fortunes instead by pulling money away from the peasants….
I’ve talked to my local school officials and administrators here in central Illinois. The number one thing they’re asking for isn’t “relief” from collective bargaining.
It’s a fix for the GSA so they can actually budget for it, and relief from unfunded mandates. Many of the very Republican board members even tell me that curtailing bargaining isn’t what they had in mind. See the Vision 20/20 initiative.

why cut 4M by closing the museum and loose all the economic activity it creates? Perhaps closing the museum is improving the business climate? snark
As part of the Governor’s demand that property tax reform includes that local government be free from collective bargaining, I assume he is promoting no collective bargaining with teachers? Does anyone know if no more collective bargaining with teachers is what he is part of what he is demanding?

Did the Speaker really bring copies of negative mailpieces sent to his neighbors to a press conference to complain? Oh, that’s rich!

For some reason I can’t scroll but did I see a tweet that Madigan says he has enough votes to override veto on CB/Arbitration?
