Gidwitz now on board with Kirk

* Greg Hinz has a post about an upcoming fundraiser for US Sen. Mark Kirk…
Senate Majority Whip John Cornyn, R-Texas, will be in town for a luncheon at the Chicago Club for which tickets are going for $1,000 to $5,400 a head. Team Kirk is hoping to pull in around $200,000 at the event, almost enough to pay for a week of statewide TV ads.
The name sponsors include four prominent GOP fundraisers: Craig Duchossois, Barry MacLean, Miles White and Ron Gidwitz.
The Gidwitz backing is particularly noteworthy, given that, in a July interview with Crain’s he called on Kirk to abandon his re-election effort, saying it is likely unwinnable.
Under pressure from Gov. Bruce Rauner, Gidwitz later backed off that remark. This fundraiser looks like his form of doing penance.

Good to see “The ATM” learned his listen;
Be quiet. Write the checks we tell you. We will tell your opinion.
Gidwitz, lol,
“We need you to raise $50K. We’ll tell you for who”.
That’s what Gidwitz is now, just an ATM.

He’s got to stay involved. What was his alternative?

Assuming all the contributors will be appropriately reported - it will be interesting to see how the $200,000 or more is raised and from whom.
Yet, we can’t forget about Citizens United ( Corporations are just like the rest of us peons ). Should be interesting to see how much dark money will actually be spent on this election.

We’re expectin’ Bruce to jump on the Rubio bandwagon along with Citadel billionaire Griffin, who has recently announced his affections for the Junior Senator from FL.
In the meantime, Gidwitz is becoming a team player once again.

Problem is - Gidwitz was correct. Kirk is a damaged candidate. Kirk should have stepped down. Now that no one else has decided to challenge him, Kirk has become the only game in town. So, Gidwitz has to be a team player.
But he was correct.

Because teacher made them shake hands after the fight on the playground, or because the moderate Republican won’t exist in Illinois after November?
