Rauner ad promotes online term limits petition
Friday, Aug 5, 2016 - Posted by Rich Miller * Gov. Rauner appears in a new ad touting an online petition favoring term limits. The ad features one character saying “Let’s get a million signatures this time.” Another follows with “Make ‘em debate it.” The ad is paid for by Turnaround Illinois, Inc., which is one of Rauner’s campaign funds. So it’s very likely that Rauner will use the ad to not only boost his flagging poll numbers (since the issue is so popular), but to also gather up contact information to use against Democrats in legislative races this year. * Script…

Remember in 2014 when we voted in favor of raising the minimum wage?

===One could argue that Rauner’s quest to chip away at bicameral Democratic majorities is a way of affecting change. But, frankly, term limits is an issue best left for the conservative fringe. What’s next, a return to the gold standard? Both have about the same chances of survival.===
The Quad Cities Times beat me to it.

Remember in 2014 when we voted in favor of the millionaire’s tax?
BTW, has Rauner ever signed a pledge to retire after two terms?

BVR will continue spending his Millions to dissipate half truths and innuendo to continue promoting his full agenda.
He can last longer with this impasse than can the majority of those who live in Illinois.
Yet the campaign continues!

Forgive my ignorance, but does Rauner’s term-limits initiative also include the executive branch? If not, what precisely is his rationale for not applying the same principle to his own branch of government?

He has put this state in more debt! I’ve been a State worker for approx. 28 years, only a hand full of Govenors paid into retirement fund, now your in debt? You all couldn’t see that coming? Now you want to try fixing it by blaming State works. There is companies millions who make millions of dollars and you can’t find someone with the ability to fix finances in Illinois!
