Rauner shares, receives #FunFacts
Wednesday, Dec 21, 2016 - Posted by Rich Miller * From yesterday…
* That tweet inspired some high quality trolling…
I monitor the governor’s Twitter account all day and I’ve noticed a definite uptick in anti-Rauner tweets since the election ended as liberals take out their frustrations on the nearest Republican. But the Democratic Party itself has given Rauner free rein on social media for two years. * There were also some counter-trolls yesterday, mainly like this one…
Can you imagine if Speaker Madigan had his own Twitter account? Whew.

The DPI messaging and social media presence is shameful, but you’d think ISDVF could pick up some of the anti-Rauner slack.

The Facts of what Rauner has done to the state are anything but Fun.

Nominate the best location for the “Rauner Room.”

Maybe for Christmas we could chip in and buy the IL Dem Party a Commodore 64 or an IBM PCjr.

Alfondo - as a counter perhaps we can rename a lavatory inside the Mansion as the “Madigan Bathroom”. The jokes write themselves.
- CrazyHorse - Wednesday, Dec 21, 16 @ 10:43 am:
Anyone simply stating blame Madigan at this point takes me back to my adolescent days when the kids would say “I know you are but what am I?” It’s that tiresome already.
Yes, we all know Madigan has a hand, and a big one at that, in this whole mess but if I’m going to see the light at the end of the Rauner tunnel I want some hard numbers as to how much our state is going to benefit from his agenda items. I mean if the savings were truly monumental enough to justify burning everything down outside of K-12 surely he’d be shoving the data down our throats. The fact that he isn’t, or won’t, is very telling.

Good stuff! 1st Amendment at one of its finest moment!
- illini - Wednesday, Dec 21, 16 @ 10:47 am:
Exactly correct, Rich - “But the Democratic Party itself has given Rauner free rein on social media for two years.”
I used to think the Rauner Press Shop was incapable of crafting a believable message, yet they have been quite capable of using social media to their benefit and without any effective counter messaging.
Maybe I should get on social media myself to better follow what is going on!!!!
Maybe the Donald is taking some notes from BVR - should be interesting to see what he continues to come up with after Jan. 20.

The Facts of what Madigan has done to the state are devastating.

Emily Miller at her absolute finest. She’s an asset to IL. Wouldn’t it be great if the Governor would meet with her…she surely can “shakeup Springfield.” Difference between her shaking things up compared to the Governor is she could actually get us a budget.

Madigan with a twitter account would be a real snooze fest. Although I can imagine the trolling of him.

All our Governor has said for his entire term is BLAME MADIGAN! If you are hearing echoes, listen for Rauner’s, his is certainly the loudest. M-A-D-I-G-A-N!!!!

I can’t respect Emily Miller.
She’s so great.
===But the Democratic Party itself has given Rauner free rein on social media for two years.===
Can’t beat something with nothing.
It’s mind-boggling the complete lacking in messaging by the ILDems
It’s more speechless than I am that they don’t have a voice.
- Responsa - Wednesday, Dec 21, 16 @ 11:20 am:
Putting politics aside for perhaps just a moment—- I have thoroughly enjoyed seeing these and other old photos of our past governors celebrating the holidays and the styles of the interiors of the governors’ mansion over the years, which have been dug out of the archives and published recently. They are all part of our state’s illustrious history. It doesn’t hurt to look at the past fondly without dragging in modern day cynicism about absolutely everything, you know?

Still tryin’ to make connection between the BigBrain free reign on social media and how his persuaded folks to buy into his B* as path to prosperity. We will ponder as the true rocket scientist wing of the Capt Fax blogosphere holds forth.

Dumb phone.
My humblest apologies.
- L.Swaryin - Wednesday, Dec 21, 16 @ 11:27 am:
People here tout Emily Miller as some paragon of virtue. These tweets are the work of a partisan hack, not someone who is employed by an organization whose mission is to advance Christian principles of housing, clothing and feeding the poor.
You want to be a partisan? Put on a D or R jersey and get in the game.
You want to live the Gospel? Influence civil authorities by being humble and non-judgmental.
On a more practical level, you are likely costing your organization money by tweeting like this and if I were on your board I’d call you to account for it.

With great respect,
This is why it’s failing. Giving up a whole messaging apparatus hasn’t helped.
You can’t make the argument it hasn’t hurt.
The Anti-Raunerites would like to see some blowback, and nothing has been seen by the Democratic Majority.
“Still tryin’ to make connection between the BigBrain free reign on social media and how his persuaded folks to buy into his B* as path to prosperity.”
This might not be the best question to ask when HDems lose the messaging battle. Daily.
With sincere, no decoder ring needed, respect.

I dunno if purposely knocking Emily Miller to rehabilitate the Governor, given “change is hard” floating out there, is a smart tact.
Ms. Miller’s body of work speaks volumes against your snarky swipe at her.

The Democratic Party in Illinois has given everyone a free pass on social media for years. Individual candidates and electeds have had a presence, but the party orgs have been noticeably absent.

“employed by an organization whose mission is to advance Christian principles”
Your attack of Emily is off-the-mark bullying.
Maybe she should consider going to the “temple” and flipping some tables?
A Christian should not fear a righteous confrontation and should speak up truthfully and bigly. 🤓

So the Chicago Coalition for the Homeless said it wasn’t necessarily it was the City and not necessarily the State’s faule that shelter was closing, but I guess Lane Foxtree (whoever that is) knows better.
He also said the turnaround agenda will ONLY add $510, and somehow that is a bad thing? I know it is much less than the Governor is saying, but that’s not really much of a burn. An extra $5oo million in revenue would translates into $5 billion bonded of 10 years for infrastructure. Sounds OK to me. I think Lane Foxtree, (again I don’t know who that is, nor do I care) isn’t very good at this whole twitter thing.
