*** UPDATED x1 *** OK, now I’ve (kinda) seen everything
Wednesday, Jun 7, 2017 - Posted by Rich Miller * It’s dark and grainy and difficult to see, but a pal sent me this video of gubernatorial candidate Ameya Pawar “levitating” someone today, accompanied by saxophone music… This was taken at an event in Pawar’s ward for the new Chicago Magic Lounge. * Part of the explanation from the Pawar campaign…
Indeed. *** UPDATE *** The Tribune has a better video. Click here.

If he has a source for magic beans, he may be onto something.
- Rocky Rosi - Wednesday, Jun 7, 17 @ 12:17 pm:
That video makes me want to vote for him.
- Blue Bayou - Wednesday, Jun 7, 17 @ 12:17 pm:
Maybe he can raise the specter of a progressive budget.
Or at least saw Rauner in half….
- walker - Wednesday, Jun 7, 17 @ 12:18 pm:
We need a little humor about now.
- 47th Ward - Wednesday, Jun 7, 17 @ 12:19 pm:
That ain’t no fake, that was real. That’s why they call him Superman.
- Oswego Willy - Wednesday, Jun 7, 17 @ 12:20 pm:
This is pretty cool, a chance to see someone away from the politics.
Levity is needed right now.
- BuckinIrish - Wednesday, Jun 7, 17 @ 12:21 pm:
I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again. Pawar has my vote till I start seeing some serious magic tricks out of Kennedy, Pritzker, etc. Some serious sorcery is required to fix the mess Illinois is in.
- Oswego Willy - Wednesday, Jun 7, 17 @ 12:21 pm:
- 47th Ward -
I’m glad you broke the seal… that music…
Johnny Ola told Rich’s pal about this act.

=Levity is needed right now.=
Some true magic would help too!
- 47th Ward - Wednesday, Jun 7, 17 @ 12:23 pm:
Honest to God Willy, as soon as I heard the music it was the first thing that popped into my head.
“Johnny Ola told me about this place. He brought me here. I didn’t believe him, but seein’ is believin’, huh?…Old man Roth’d never come here, but old Johnny knows these places like the back of his hand.”
- Oswego Willy - Wednesday, Jun 7, 17 @ 12:29 pm:
Great minds, - 47th Ward -…
“Hyman Roth… He’s has been dying from the same heart attack for the last twenty years.”
Thanks for breaking the seal. Glad it wasn’t just me.
- Chicago Cynic - Wednesday, Jun 7, 17 @ 12:31 pm:
The video was so dark. Which guy was Pawar?
- Anonymous - Wednesday, Jun 7, 17 @ 12:32 pm:
My God.. How long has he had this power? Was he born with it, or did it develop as he got older? More questions than answers here.
This is a game changer.
- Chicago 20 - Wednesday, Jun 7, 17 @ 12:40 pm:
Magic?
If Pawar can make Rauner disappear he’ll have my vote!
- Downstate Dem - Wednesday, Jun 7, 17 @ 12:42 pm:
The Sax sounds good
- Tollway Tommy - Wednesday, Jun 7, 17 @ 12:42 pm:
Was this filmed with a toaster?
- Puddintaine - Wednesday, Jun 7, 17 @ 12:45 pm:
In league with Lucifer! If he’d hacked some voting machines he’d be in league with Guccifer.
- Adam Eaton - Wednesday, Jun 7, 17 @ 12:45 pm:
He does magic and Biss juggles. I think we have our acts for the state fair covered now.
- AC - Wednesday, Jun 7, 17 @ 1:02 pm:
Typical “Democrat Party” trick, providing support where it isn’t needed, trying some ill adviced intervention between people and forces of nature like gravity, or poverty. You call this magic? Please! Our current governor could magically create $4.6 billion out of thin air, simply by working together on grand bargain. He even has higher resolution videos, and much better costumes. I shouldn’t have to mark this as /s but you never know.
- Amalia - Wednesday, Jun 7, 17 @ 1:22 pm:
magic powers to levitate, but no powers with the camera work!
- Hobson's Choice - Wednesday, Jun 7, 17 @ 1:55 pm:
If Pawar has the ability to heal the goose that once laid golden eggs (i.e. the Illinois economy) that was bled white by greedy politicians that would be magic!
- Steward As Well.... - Wednesday, Jun 7, 17 @ 2:00 pm:
What’s next? Why of course an interview on nationwide late night radio “Coast to Coast” with George Noory. Where many crackpots end up, but hey it’s free publicity.
- A guy - Wednesday, Jun 7, 17 @ 2:11 pm:
He’d be #1 in the polls…in Haiti.
