Gov. Rauner gets his own blog
Friday, Jan 19, 2018 - Posted by Rich Miller
* Press release…
The Governor’s Office is starting a new PolicyPOV blog intended to deliver points of view (POV) on policies, programs, issues and events of concern to Illinoisans. The first post addresses how the new federal tax reform act impacts Illinois families and businesses. The blog is being hosted at the governor’s website.
The inaugural post is pretty darned complimentary of the new federal tax law. Click here.
- Huh? - Friday, Jan 19, 18 @ 9:35 am:
Blah blah blah.
- 360 Degree TurnAround - Friday, Jan 19, 18 @ 9:36 am:
They need a “comment” section like this one.
- Fixer - Friday, Jan 19, 18 @ 9:38 am:
He doesn’t repeat the same stuff often enough that he thought it needed to be put online as well?
Okay then.
- Retired Educator - Friday, Jan 19, 18 @ 9:41 am:
360; He wouldn’t like the comments. He is trying the old “I am engaged: ploy. We all know he is not, and no blog or propaganda site is going to change the fact, that he is, and always has been out of his league.
- Arthur Andersen - Friday, Jan 19, 18 @ 9:42 am:
Agree, 360. No comment section-pass.

“Illinois.gov”
Is he using state resources for his re-election campaign?
- DarkDante - Friday, Jan 19, 18 @ 9:46 am:
Rauner doesn’t seem to have a consistent message on the tax cut package; 2 weeks ago, it was bad for Illinois families, now it will save them $2,400 a year. What happened?
On another note, the website is, itself, rather stock and low a quality.
5/10 overall.
- Oswego Willy - Friday, Jan 19, 18 @ 9:46 am:
Vertical integration, now within another “point to” prong for other means of the integration to seemingly break news from alleged multiple sources, but really from one point, and getting it out as a sourced point for news.
Will be interesting if Rauner does eventually have a comment section. I’m not holding my breath in any way.

Brucie Rauner has a blog, EIEIO!
And on that blog he bashed some Dems, EIEIO!
With an “It’s his fault” here!
And an “It’s her fault” there!
“His fault! Her fault! Everyone’s but my fault!”
Brucie Rauner has a blog, EIEIO!

==PolicyPOV blog==
The site’s original name (Pravda) sounded a little too “ethnic”.

Did they find the Looch something to do for his sweet ghost payroller gig at the Illinois State Police? Beats crimefighting.
The guv’s “analysis” studiously ignores the old bait-and-switch for the middle class in the out-years when their taxes will be higher than before “tax reform.”
But I’m not surprised that Rauner favors adding $1.5 trillion to the national debt in an attempt to create a “crisis” to cut Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, etc., in the future. (Good luck finding Republicans that will actually vote to cut Social Security and Medicare; much easier to just pile on debt).
That’s exactly what Rauner did here when he added $12B to the backlog of bills so he could tune up contracted social service providers and higher ed.

The power of incumbency is powerful.
- Cubs in '16 - Friday, Jan 19, 18 @ 10:03 am:
He should call it ‘Purview in Perfidy’.
- City Zen - Friday, Jan 19, 18 @ 10:09 am:
Needs more “whopping”.
- 47th Ward - Friday, Jan 19, 18 @ 10:09 am:
If they open up comments over there, Rich is going to lose all of the insightful comments by Lucky Pierre. That’d be a shame.
- Arsenal - Friday, Jan 19, 18 @ 10:39 am:
Rauner has taken more positions on Trump than Stormy Daniels.
- Arsenal - Friday, Jan 19, 18 @ 10:39 am:
I’ll see myself out.
- Anonymous - Friday, Jan 19, 18 @ 10:49 am:
Make sure if they come up with comment section they can’t trace it back. Hear that Willy?
- Oswego Willy - Friday, Jan 19, 18 @ 10:54 am:
===Hear that Willy?===
No chance I’d ever comment.
The reading would be farce, can’t turn down reading that.
I’m very comfortable *not* spreading my wings anywhere else.

Well, the usual “conservative,” right-wing radio host, and libertarian blogs have all turned against him.
His only loyal media is owned media.

I wonder how Protzker is going to walk back his comments on the new tax bill. The boys(girl) at the old widget shop are darn excited by the upcoming extra $ that will be on their checks. I can only imagine the big money players in Chicago are dreading a Protzker regime with his guarantee on the progressive tax. Rauner still has no chance.
- Henry Francis - Friday, Jan 19, 18 @ 11:57 am:
Hmmmm . . . No mention of SALT impact? Missed an opportunity to rail against the income tax increase he vetoed.
- RNUG - Friday, Jan 19, 18 @ 12:17 pm:
Does this mean we will now have an official record of him mis-speaking … at least until they delete or revise it?
- A Jack - Friday, Jan 19, 18 @ 12:55 pm:
It looks like a press release that no one wanted.
