Life on the campaign trail: Il. Gubernatorial candidate Bob Daiber stops by Decatur's senior center. No activities on docket today, so Daiber chatting w/employee pic.twitter.com/Lf9F46y7c6
This connecting with voters one voter at a time thing is hard! *checks list* That’s 792 down, 12.8 million or so to go…

No real comment other than it often takes a lot of guts to run for public office but the picture does make me question why he thought running was a good idea.
I’m surprisingly not interested in giving heat here, even in a good fun, to a guy legitimately seeking to hear the concerns of state residents. Lord knows Rauner or Pritzker couldn’t be bothered to be put in an environment where talking points would only last so long.
Mr. Daiber, aren’t you supposed to be on your public payroll job right now? Are you taking today as a vacation day, a personal day, or an unpaid day off?
Stark, you’re not wrong here. I’ve thought for awhile that Daiber is the closest thing to a regular guy among the field. That doesn’t mean he’s exempt from his turn in the barrel here at the ol’ blog.
Looks like the old joke about the politician working the assisted living facility, and meeting with blank stares. So he asked one lady, “Do you know who I am?”, and she replied, “I surely don’t, but if you ask at the nurses’ station, they can tell you.”
“Daiber. Yes, Bob Daiber. Mmhmm. Governor. I swear. Like, on the ballot and everything. Bob Daiber. I’m running for Governor. Nice to meet you too. It’s ok, I’ve never heard of me either.”
