  1. - Just Me - Tuesday, Mar 20, 18 @ 7:24 pm:

Thanks for the auto-load feature!!! No more going back and forth between various newspaper websites checking all the various races I’m interested in! This is awesome!

  2. - Anonymous - Tuesday, Mar 20, 18 @ 8:07 pm:

Is Chris Kennedy really going to get more votes than Bruce Rauner?

  3. - hisgirlfriday - Tuesday, Mar 20, 18 @ 8:10 pm:

I know it’s only an early snapshot, but I’m enjoying seeing Rauner at this moment losing Sangamon County with 14/180 precincts reporting, per the results on Politico.

Simply mind-boggling if an incumbent GOP governor cannot clean up in Sangamon County.

  4. - JS Mill - Tuesday, Mar 20, 18 @ 8:26 pm:

=Is Chris Kennedy really going to get more votes than Bruce Rauner?=

Bruce Rauner will get fewer votes than Pat Quinn and maybe even Erika Harlod!

  5. - Lester Holt’s Mustache - Tuesday, Mar 20, 18 @ 8:49 pm:

==Is Chris Kennedy really going to get more votes than Bruce Rauner?==

Yes. So will Dan Biss, Erica Harold, and Pat Quinn.

  6. - anon2 - Tuesday, Mar 20, 18 @ 9:23 pm:

A three-point victory suggests a decided lack of GOP enthusiasm for their incumbent governor, which doesn’t bode well for him in the fall.

  7. - anon2 - Tuesday, Mar 20, 18 @ 9:37 pm:

Pritzker wins by 19 points in a multi-candidate race, compared to the incumbent’s 3-point victory in a two-candidate race. Doesn’t sound like Big Mo favors the Governor right now.

  8. - Anon1888 - Tuesday, Mar 20, 18 @ 9:48 pm:

How incredibly embarrassing for Governor Rauner. I wonder who he’ll blame for his poor performance. Pull out your “Rauner Blame” bingo card.

  9. - 47th Ward - Tuesday, Mar 20, 18 @ 9:52 pm:

===I wonder who he’ll blame for his poor performance===

    Madigan?

  10. - Oswego Willy - Tuesday, Mar 20, 18 @ 9:57 pm:

Rauner will need all of Ives votes back… and some of Kennedy’s and Biss’…

Tough road ahead, when the party you bought rejects you like the GOP seems to rejecting Rauner

  11. - Mittuns - Tuesday, Mar 20, 18 @ 10:01 pm:

Win or lose tonight, what an embarrassment for Rauner.

I find it hard to believe that the undecideds would’ve broken so heavily in favor of Pritzker.

  12. - Anon221 - Tuesday, Mar 20, 18 @ 10:19 pm:

Rauner just gave his victory speech. Hopefully it’s premature;)

  13. - Oswego Willy - Tuesday, Mar 20, 18 @ 10:33 pm:

    Who is the Rauner constituency?

Tonight? Lots of voters rejected Rauner.

    Edgar won by 50 points.

    This ain’t a 50 point Rauner win.

  14. - Oswego Willy - Tuesday, Mar 20, 18 @ 10:35 pm:

    Ives trolling Rauner

    “Didn’t have a canpaign manager”

    That’s hysterical.

I got 48% with no organization.

    Whew.

  15. - Blue dog dem - Tuesday, Mar 20, 18 @ 10:40 pm:

    Dear Bruce,

Conservative Independents arent dummies. You can fool the partisans. Not us. Some financial advice. Save your money. You are toast. If ya wanna blow $75 million, donate it to your favorite charity.

  16. - Oswego Willy - Tuesday, Mar 20, 18 @ 10:44 pm:

No call to rally around Rauner?

That’s interesting. Not really, but when someone gets 48% abs is the keen on backing the winner…

Ives is holding Rauner’s chances and ignoring that… bigger mistake now going forward for Rauner then just trying to continue his same messaging.

  17. - Blue dog dem - Tuesday, Mar 20, 18 @ 10:46 pm:

Hope them suburban women were working tonight and not paying attention.

  18. - wordslinger - Tuesday, Mar 20, 18 @ 10:48 pm:

I wonder if Rauner will bring in a whole new crew from outside (not IPI).

His “message” didn’t hurt Pritzker and it didn’t thrill Republicans. So… what’s the point?

  19. - Oswego Willy - Tuesday, Mar 20, 18 @ 10:55 pm:

You’d think Rauner should at least retool messsging and fresh thoughts and fresh eyes to get Rauner focused.

    Who could Rauner get now?

Nationally, he looks even more weak tonight. The only way he’s look weaker is if Ives found 20,000 more votes.

  20. - wordslinger - Tuesday, Mar 20, 18 @ 10:55 pm:

As it stands now, about 1,179,000 votes for Dem guv candidates, about 640,000 for GOP candidates.

  21. - Blue dog dem - Tuesday, Mar 20, 18 @ 10:56 pm:

    Laser focused.

  22. - Blue dog dem - Tuesday, Mar 20, 18 @ 10:59 pm:

For a year.I predicted a 9% Rauner loss in the general. After tonight. 16.5%.

  23. - Ron - Tuesday, Mar 20, 18 @ 11:02 pm:

Easy November decision. Rauner over Pritzker.

  24. - Ron - Tuesday, Mar 20, 18 @ 11:03 pm:

Edgar was one our worse governor in modern times. All that tells me is that Illinois is really dumb

  25. - Oswego Willy - Tuesday, Mar 20, 18 @ 11:03 pm:

Congrats to Biss and Kennedy, they ran good campaigns…

Congratulations to the Pritzker Crew, and I look forward to your Crew impressing me with the race you’ll run.

  26. - VanillaMan - Tuesday, Mar 20, 18 @ 11:05 pm:

Please tell me again how Ives is a fringe candidate who’ll only make Rauner look good.

I never expected her to win, but I definately expect the Worst Republican governor in America to lose big.

There won’t be a ILGOP rally around Rauner. I’m never voting for that gubernatorial embarrassment, and I’m no Pritzker fan. If it even gets close I’ll vote for the puffy billionaire, but I’m not expecting to have to do that.

Here’s a problem though. Except for Davis and Harold, there’s no one to vote for.

  27. - wordslinger - Tuesday, Mar 20, 18 @ 11:18 pm:

==Edgar was one our worse governor in modern times. All that tells me is that Illinois is really dumb==

LOL, maybe one of the “worse” trolls like yourself isn’t in a place to call anyone “dumb.”

  28. - Hysteria - Tuesday, Mar 20, 18 @ 11:27 pm:

Unless Rauner can unsign HB40, there’s no way he gets support from the conservative base. No way he can unite the party under his “leadership.”

  29. - Skeptical - Tuesday, Mar 20, 18 @ 11:39 pm:

So, what are the chances Rauner faces a third party challenger from the right? I’d say he’s much more likely to face one after tonight. If a challenger can get 5% of the vote Rauner has no chance.

  30. - Anonymous - Tuesday, Mar 20, 18 @ 11:42 pm:

Glad Berrios went down. Looks like Lipinski will be around for another term or two, but his days are numbered.

  31. - Ron - Tuesday, Mar 20, 18 @ 11:45 pm:

Social conservatives are the worst. Precisely why I like Rauner.

  32. - Grandson of Man - Wednesday, Mar 21, 18 @ 12:22 am:

“You’d think Rauner should at least retool messsging”

Lol, with utmost respect, Rauner is so phony as it is. Now he’s going to be another Rauner instead of the real Rauner we’ve seen, who’s running a blame scam to disguise that he will not work with the people he wants to knock out? We’ve seen who the real Rauner is, and the worst-ever results tell the tale.

Pritzker made a great speech tonight, better than expected, hitting on major policy points: marijuana legalization, progressive taxation, unions, health insurance expansion, etc. His great line was that he’s not perfect–unlike Rauner, who never accepts responsibility. He also said he won’t be putting on costumes.

It’s been a tough internet night, with not being able to get through and crashes. Sorry again if many of my posts pop up at once. It is a big fear, but I haven’t seen it yet.

Pritzker smoked, Rauner limped along. The first part surprised me the most. Dunkin the Raunerite lost. That was my favorite result. Oh, and the marijuana legalization question result was great. Time to put this issue in the forefront and get it legal.
