It looks like Mayoral Challengers are on board to help Pat Quinn’s referendum - Willie Wilson & Paul Vallas both said they want to help get signatures.
Favorite Parts Unknown episode? (I’m more Parts Unknown, if you can’t tell). I would vote for either the show where he tried to out-Vodka the Russian or the episode in France with all of the famous French chefs.
RIP Tony Bourdain. Never know what demons someone is dealing with, and he certainly had many in his past. When a guy who from outward appearances is living life to the fullest goes like that, what chance do the rest of us have?
Favorite episode was from No Reservations where he went to Romania with his Russian friend Zamir.

I agree with FormerRepublican: it’s good that DC has something to celebrate. Vegas can wait. But some of those Stanley Cup Finals games sure were wonderfully played by both teams.

The trailer for the new “Halloween” movie dropped today. Yes please.
Oh, yeah, World Cup. Will England fall early? Will Iceland go on a roll like in that Euro contest? Do Ronaldo’s countryman dislike him like the Real Madrid players do? Can I survive the coverage time difference?
Business Insider website reporting that EU is slapping tariffs of just under $200 mil worth of IL exports. No hard numbers for IL products subject to tariffs last week by Canada and Mexico, but probably substantial. China reduced purchase of soybeans by 134,000 tons last month. Looking forward to watching Davis, Roskam, Maisch, Rauner, etc dodge questions about glorious leader for rest of the year
If you have never been, hike around the grounds and trails at Allerton Park in Monticello. They have great concerts and other events throughout the summer. It is an amazing place,
Labor Board meeting Tuesday. Any chance we catch a lucky break or do we really have to wait until at least January when we probably have a new governor?
==World Cup starting next week - USA did not qualify==
Due to the cajoling of a close personal friend, will be cheering for Peru. Last team to get in, longest of long shots. Probably global equivalent of rooting for the Cleveland Browns. I blame Bruce Arena for this situation.
RIP Anthony Bourdain, who had great TV episodes of sharing food around the world, and the intimacy and love of the table. Don’t know his circumstances, but severe depression is horrible and irrational. I remember Brad Delp of the band Boston, thinking how could someone with so much do the unthinkable. There is no sense or reason for such an illness/condition. I hope people seek the help and support they need, including medical treatment.

I have peeps in Iceland. About 10% of the population, 35,000, traveled to France for Euro 2016.
When they beat England, the old volcano just about blew again.
