Uihlein gives $1.5 million to Liberty Principles PAC
Tuesday, Jun 19, 2018 - Posted by Rich Miller By Hannah Meisel * New A1 dated yesterday: Dick Uihlein gave $1.5 million to Dan Proft’s Liberty Principles PAC.
* Interesting timing…it’s June and way, way past the primaries. Could it be an incentive for the 2020 cycle already?

Ok this guy Proft must have something really big and bad on daddy warbucks, because he is getting ZERO ROI from all this money. If Proft was a CEO of a major company he would have been fired long ago.
We should all only hope we could work for Uihlein at his trucking company as a executive manager. Just fail repeatedly and still get paid handsomely.
- Grand Avenue - Tuesday, Jun 19, 18 @ 12:44 pm:
They will be involved in some State House General Election races, like they were in 2016.
For instance, they are backing Ammie Kessem against Martwick and Amanda Biela against D’Amico - 2 races that ILGOP is staying out of because they believe that they are hopeless and would rather devote their resources to a more winnable race.
- Oswego Willy - Tuesday, Jun 19, 18 @ 12:45 pm:
If that $1.5 million is used to remind conservatives and Right leaning Republicans that Bruce Rauner is a failed governor, the worst Republican governor in America, a governor with an uber-left, costal, limousine liberal social agenda…
…
… I’m cool with that.
lol
- Long Time R - Tuesday, Jun 19, 18 @ 12:48 pm:
So much for Uihlein believing in performance based compensation

Yes, Rauner would be good if he were a monster on social issues. Good analysis from this fun place people like.
- Board Watcher - Tuesday, Jun 19, 18 @ 12:53 pm:
-OW- I would think that with Shaw now playing a pivotal role in the State GOP I doubt the money can be used against Rauner. Shaw is a Uihlein guy and close to him. More then likely Proft is a little short in his piggy bank and got the old guy teed up over some house races. JMO
- Annonin' - Tuesday, Jun 19, 18 @ 12:55 pm:
We think this is either
1. Proft summer allowance
2. Summer payment on whatever they hold over his head.

===…now playing a pivotal role in the State GOP I doubt the money can be used against Rauner.===
Shaw got a title. The pass-thru monies of the state party aren’t going thru Shaw. “Follow the money”.
If you think Uihlein and Proft have made up with Rauner, I’d like to see a bit more before I go there.
===More then likely Proft is a little short in his piggy bank and got the old guy teed up over some house races.===
This is probably mostly true, yep.
I was laughing that if they’re sitting around with $1.5 mil and looking at going after Rauner… in June… just funny on its face.
All good.
- Board Watcher - Tuesday, Jun 19, 18 @ 1:10 pm:
-OW- Agreed all good. But i still would love to know how a guy who has built a multi, multi, million dollar business could be played so easily by the likes of Proft. Proft’s ability to scam this guy makes Jordan Belfort look like a amateur.

Here… shhh… ‘tween us…
If you find out, let me know too… we can work this racket, divide the “street” and no one will be the wiser, but, please, keep it between us.
- Board Watcher - Tuesday, Jun 19, 18 @ 1:15 pm:
-OW- LOL

Uihlein didn’t build anything. He inherited his wealth. Big difference. When you didn’t earn it, it doesn’t mean anything to you.
- Poor kids - Tuesday, Jun 19, 18 @ 1:28 pm:
What about Sean Morrison and his letter to a judge that helped an accused child molester? Will some of that money be used for a legal defense fund?
- Board Watcher - Tuesday, Jun 19, 18 @ 1:40 pm:
-Poor Kids - Lets stick the story at hand and not try to create one. Printing news articles and good interesting news bits is up to Rich and his staff.
- wordslinger - Tuesday, Jun 19, 18 @ 2:18 pm:
Maybe Proft sweet-talked his sugar daddy to run some spots for McCann.

Ives got 48% of the vote… framing Rauner as an uber-left, costal, limousine liberal.
We’re you asleep, lol

Possible, maybe even likely, but ol’ Dicky boy is also playing the long game - spend ridiculous sums over decades to get a permanent shift in thinking on the “right.” It’s actually a tried and true method if you have the money and the patience. Most lack one or the other.
But please don’t get me wrong - these men are monsters.
- DuPage Bard - Tuesday, Jun 19, 18 @ 2:32 pm:
So if not Proft, who should Uihlein give his money to? Rauner? He barely beat a statewide no name who used a racist commercial and outspent her 10-1. yeah great win Bruce
Who are the GOP strategists that have all this impressive domination that folks keep saying Proft is terrible at?
Truth be told Uihlein’s money and Profit screaming made 10 traitor republicans who voted for the tax increase decide to not run for reelection. They weren’t scared of Rauner they were scared of the Uihlein/Proft right.
- Red Rider - Tuesday, Jun 19, 18 @ 2:36 pm:
He don’t know any black people, just look at all of them in his administration.
- Uncle Ernie - Tuesday, Jun 19, 18 @ 2:45 pm:
Well Uncle Ernie is a D, so we are going to toss all those U-Line catalogues in the trash in our offices… and maybe before long Dick will begin to notice that D’s buy office supplies also
- downstater - Tuesday, Jun 19, 18 @ 2:54 pm:
== So if not Proft, who should Uihlein give his money to? ==
Anybody but Proft and Rauner. Proft can only win races nobody would lose. Even with a ton of cash, he’s bungled race after race. Proft is a grifter and he will take money from Uihlein just as he did from Rauner. Ah, how about Zero Principles PAC?
- anonymous - Tuesday, Jun 19, 18 @ 2:56 pm:
Uihlein should give his money to…basically anyone other than Proft.

That’s how money works.
Spend, save, give, invest… free market.

Sorry Sean.

Our little free market here allows us to call out Uihlein as an idiot and a fool and yes he’s free to be an idiot and a fool.

Which was me agreeing with you… just more subtle.

Uihlein and Proft are in the business of electing real conservatives. I hope that they will join the effort to rid the Republican Party of leaders that look the other way when children are being abused by predators.

So they want to get rid of Trump?
- 19th ward guy - Tuesday, Jun 19, 18 @ 4:01 pm:
Proft boasts the he has raised and spent $50 million during his activities. With all this resources he has never flipped a seat from Democrat to Republican. This $1.5 mil is just more evidence that Proft continues to hoodwink Mr U that they can knock out Madigan That’s the line of garbage from Team Proft.
