Thursday’s State Fair #facepalm
Thursday, Aug 16, 2018 - Posted by Rich Miller * Well, at least it’s not just government workers/vendors who can’t spell. Even State Fair vendors make cringe-inducing goofs… Wrapped. Pickle (although maybe the owner is from Pickel, Missouri). Sheesh.

Springfield spells it “chilli”. We seem to be regressing to 16th century spelling standards.

I believe the Pickel family from Lincoln County are the owners.

BlueDogDem, you almost had me. Almost…

There used to be a place at the fair that sold combo Italian beef/Italian sausage sandwiches. On the menu it said “For The Hungary” under it. They let me order it even though I wasn’t Hungarian.

At this point if you are making an Illinois State Fair vendor sign and NOT misspelling things, you are a poor marketer of your wares.

Even if they are the Pickel family from Pickel, Missouri, they should know how to spell “wrapped”.

“It’s a d**n poor mind indeed which can’t think of at least two ways to spell any word.”

“Wraped” - how do you pronounce that?

How hard is it to look the words up to make sure they are spelt correctly before paying money to have the sign printed? Arrrggg!!!

No such thing as bad advertising.
We are just surprised it has taken 3 years for someone to take notice. Thanks Rich

There’s a Pickell family up by Chicago. One of the sons taught my son in middle school.
And the second misspelled word on that sign? Um…holy cow!
