People are surmising that Rahm’s announcement means Chicago isn’t getting Amazon HQ 2
- Canon - Tuesday, Sep 4, 18 @ 2:56 pm:
Wait. What? Are Lance and Z back? For this one brief moment in time he stayed on message and was disciplined. A first for the campaign so far.
- DeseDemDose - Tuesday, Sep 4, 18 @ 2:56 pm:
Rauner supports Munger and her amazing list of accomplishments for Mayor.
- Oswego Willy - Tuesday, Sep 4, 18 @ 3:01 pm:
It’s so bland and boring, it’s the smartest Rauner sounded in over a year.

Can’t be from Rauner, I don’t see the word “Madigan”
- Reality Check - Tuesday, Sep 4, 18 @ 3:09 pm:
And the people of Illinois look forward to limiting you to one term at the ballot box.
- Dance Band on the Titanic - Tuesday, Sep 4, 18 @ 3:12 pm:
I look forward to working with whoever is the next mayor.
He’s goin’ to workin’ from Italy?

Pkayed hate Chicago…got him no where. Best news he will gone soon

Rahm will still be Mayor until next May. Rauner will be cleaning out his desk in January, so…

@47th: maybe he means, he wants to recruit the next Mayor to join his wine club. I hear it’s expensive but people with discerning taste think it’s worth it.

A term limit is coming your way courtesy of the Election Express this November Bruce
- Anonymous - Tuesday, Sep 4, 18 @ 4:00 pm:
Soon, Rahm and Bruce can return to their elegant wine club and commiserate over the vagaries of unkind fate. Much like Frasier and Niles Crane.
- Olmsted - Tuesday, Sep 4, 18 @ 4:02 pm:
Rauner for Mayor….Trover and Z looking for a City job.
- low level - Tuesday, Sep 4, 18 @ 4:10 pm:

- Wensicia - Tuesday, Sep 4, 18 @ 4:23 pm:
Rauner: I work for everyone in Chicago.
Send that in a mailer to downstate Republicans.

Will they also fight over who gets to be Corkmaster?
- The Dude Abides - Tuesday, Sep 4, 18 @ 4:25 pm:
Illinois does have term limits, they are called elections. Governors who fail at their jobs like Rauner get term limited as he will find out very soon. There are 35 states that don’t have Rauner’s definition of term limits and some of them are doing quite well.

The fact that his response didn’t start with [laughs] tells you it wasn’t going to be anything interesting.

With the quality comments found here, JB needn’t have hired campaign workers. Just someone to write this stuff down and disseminate.
- VanillaMan - Tuesday, Sep 4, 18 @ 4:55 pm:
This guy has never been in charge, or ever tried.
What a troll.
- DuPage Bard - Tuesday, Sep 4, 18 @ 6:06 pm:
This just took the wind out of the Rauner blasting Madigan sail in Chicago and the surrounding collars. If for one minute the Governor thinks anything he says will impact the city and surrounding suburbs more than who the next mayor of Chicago is he is sadly mistaken.
This dialogue of who’s next will get way more press time and play than anything Bruce Rauner does for the next 60 days.
- wordslinger - Tuesday, Sep 4, 18 @ 6:57 pm:
Meh, let’s see what Rauner says down south on the issue.
I’m guessin’ lookin’ forward and workin’ won’t be in the yakkin’>

As s southern Illinois boy, I must fess up
. During my 5 year stay in the Windy City I mostly enjoyed my time. A bit hectic at times, but dynamic to say the least. That being said, I am worried for the long term health of Chicago. The long term infrastructure costs are going to cost billions. Lots of billions. I pity this mayor. The next mayor . And everyone involved. It’s gonna be tough.

Sure they are. Because that’s the only thing going on in Chicago. Everyone’s just waiting around, hoping on that one corporate welfare deal.
That’s the attitude of people who think landing a state prison is “economic development.” Not exactly go-getters.
- Hermosa - Wednesday, Sep 5, 18 @ 8:55 am:
The guy sounds like Trump. Incoherent thoughts… “This is all part of a process.” Huh? What process? What are you talking about? Term limits? What do term limits have anything to do with the MRE made? Stay on message, fine. But when you risk looking like, well, Trump then deviate and just answer the question. Hard stop. Stop talking.
