* Londrigan was the only Democrat in a contested Illinois congressional district to not receive the former president’s endorsement in the first round. That was perceived by some as a snub, or maybe that it would’ve done more harm than good. Either way, Obama has now put her on his list…
…Adding… Whoa…
* Meanwhile…
Former Democratic presidential contender Hillary Clinton will campaign in Chicago on Monday for governor candidate J.B. Pritzker, a major supporter of her failed efforts to get to the White House.
Clinton, a 2008 Democratic candidate for the White House and the party’s 2016 nominee, formally endorsed Pritzker during a Chicago visit in April after he won in a crowded Democratic field for governor by a wide margin. […]
Clinton is scheduled to join Pritzker at a roundtable event highlighting social service issues, a frequent point of criticism by the Democrat over Republican Gov. Bruce Rauner’s record that included overseeing a historic state budget impasse of more than two years. She is not scheduled to speak to the media afterward.
In the 2016 election, Clinton defeated President Donald Trump in Illinois by 17 percentage points. She won all but McHenry of the state’s traditionally Republican-leaning collar counties, giving Democrats hope they can capture additional state legislative seats as well as flip GOP seats in Congress.
National politics always brings out the worst in people. Take a breath before you comment.

It’s October, you can slowly insert some “National” to gin up some base, but…
… Rauner is, “all by himself”, polling less than one in four approval, 20+ points under water… tread lightly… don’t give people reasons to walk… even when Clinton won handily here by 16 points.
Do the “National” thing, but smartly.

I think she’s inadvertently lucky - as more people are tuning in now, and will notice. I think it also shows Obama Inc. believes she has a chance to win - he’s not going to devalue his currency by backing people who don’t have a strong chance to prevail.

I’d think that by now JB has already sewn up all the voters who might be influenced by a Hillary Clinton appearance and endorsement.
- VanillaMan - Monday, Oct 1, 18 @ 1:55 pm:
But who is Dukakis endorsing?
- Oswego Willy - Monday, Oct 1, 18 @ 2:07 pm:
Here’s what *is* confusing me….
The Pritzker Crew has the Obama read-outs and raw cuts for the Obama ad(s)…
Do they wait until 2 weeks left, have Obama as part of (or hodge-poged into) the Pritzker closing argument.
Do they wait for the debates to end, as to not having to discuss the Obsma ad(s).
Do they now, after Clinton’s visit, run some of the edited ad material thru the 21st of October… than close with Obsma again in the final weekend.
What will they do with the raw Obama footage?
- Grandson of Man - Monday, Oct 1, 18 @ 2:41 pm:
I’d think Clinton will cut an ad for Pritzker at some point, or join him at a rally.
“Obama”
I’m sure Sox fans are not snickering at the Cubs just giving up two runs and now losing in the middle of the 8th.

With early voting underway holding anything until 2 weeks left is risky. If it has value you use it now and 2 weeks out.
Early voting changes a lot of strategy.
With respect, OW.

It does. There’s no denying, early voting changes a great deal.
Honestly, Edgar and Obama are quite identical, they are so popular here, but their endorsements are less than fruitful.
I said “October” weeks ago… so… it’s October.

That endorsement ensured my vote for Sam McCann. Huge mistake by Pritzker.
- Fool On The Hill - Tuesday, Oct 2, 18 @ 8:15 am:
If that endorsement pushed you to Sam McCann, you weren’t really going to vote for Pritzker anyway. Clinton is here to rally those in the Pritzker cam to get out and vote, not sway undecideds.
