* Yesterday…
Rauner warned not to make light of the toilet controversy.
“This is white collar crime,” he said. “This is not a joke. This is not funny. This is not about thrones and humor. This is serious.”
* Today…
Despite running ads calling Pritzker “the Porcelain Prince of tax avoidance,” and his campaign printing “Pritzker Plumbing” T-shirts and featuring toilets at events, Rauner said Pritzker’s tax break is “no joke.” […]
“This is not about toilets. It’s not about toilets. This is not about bathroom humor. This is not a joke. This is not funny. This is not about pink toilets versus purple toilets. You know what this is about? Corruption,” Rauner said.
* Also today…

Very meta… props, with props, touting props.

Let’s be clear about Rauner’s priorities.
Toilets are “serious as a heart attack.”
Covering up a public health crisis that kills 14 veterans and their spouses, and sickens 70 more people, isn’t.
Poisoning the people of Willowbrook with cancer-causing pollution from a corporation you own isn’t.
Got that?

I’m guessing the louie doesn’t get a lot of memos from the top.
But didn’t Brady have toilets and “porcelain prince” signs lined up outside Pritzker’s home two today’s ago?
The toilet-humor tactic was always juvenile and counter-productive, like a Proft production. If you’re not clear that anger is what moves the needle these days, you’re not paying attention.

Don’t make light of the toilets? Are they sure Pritzker’s were these plain white ones, and not made of gold? I really think Rauner and company are “flushing” themselves by going overboard with this issue. Pritzker should have “wiped” out the payment earlier this year, so I hope he hurries up and “does his business.” /s

Yes, and the Campaign twitter has re-upped the “Prince” ad a few times, too. They can’t decide which way they want to play it, or maybe they just played it as a joke for so long they can’t easily switch gears.

The coordination of the Rauner Campaign is Keystone Kops Kooky.
Wonder if Mr. Barickman talked about higher ed, you know, someone who teaches at a state university, just votes to refuse to fund higher ed. He’s just fun.

Bruce doesn’t like the media pooh-pooh’ing JB’s actions…hoping the AG report will make a bigger splash. Sadly, Bruce’s rancor will lead to him flushing away his chances at being re-elected. /s

===Highlighting that 4 out of last 9 Illinois governors have gone to prison.===
True, but none of them have gone to prison for criminal negligence. This could be a first.

Several years ago the author Robert Bly wrote a book called Sibling Society basically portraying US society as adolescent siblings squabbling.
Reading this and the posts from the last few days, the political campaigns remind me of a bunch of whiny adolescents:
Mommy, JB, Kwame, etc. kicked me! Mommy, Bruce, Erika, Jeanne, etc. pushed me!!
Is their an adult in the room anywhere in politics?? Sigh.

I should be noted, the toilets are painted “shiny”, but are 100% recyclable rubber…
… Ole Slip and Sue can’t get insurance being closer than 5 feet to “prop porcelain”.
Personal Injury lawsuits are no joke, but… Ole Slip and Sue…

So maybe LaHood should switch to a Chicago district since he is more concerned about Chicago property taxes than the veterans in Quincy.

With what sense of self respect would anyone pose with such props? This is Lt. Gov of Illinois? This cycle is just got me so down. Who really pays attention to this garbage anymore? And we wonder why people want to leave Illinois?
A song just keeps ringing in my head -
We gotta get outta this place
If it’s the last thing we ever do
’cause girl, there’s a better life for me and you

Hold an event with toilets (I.e. crap&*rs) and no one comes?
