Illinois State Rifle Association endorses Rauner today
Tuesday, Oct 16, 2018 - Posted by Rich Miller * ISRA Executive Director Richard Pearson told WJPF this morning that his group will be endorsing Gov. Bruce Rauner today. Rauner has a southern Illinois press conference this morning. I’ll update when I receive a press release. “We think he is by far the best candidate for governor, particularly for gun owners,” Pearson told host Tom Miller. With this nod, Rauner continues running a Republican primary campaign in October. Sam McCann’s candidacy must have him spooked but good. Either that or he’s trying to ease his drag on Downstate Republican candidates.

No doubt sending him further down in the Chicago Suburbs. Get the butter. He’s toast.

Sam McCann’s candidacy …..
A totally self-inflicted problem by Rauner - dog bites man.

Somewhere, Jeanne Ives and Proft are giggling, as Rauner continues to make himself less attractive to suburban women voters.
Maybe the Rauner campaign calendar has been stuck on February since… February?

Was “this” the October surprise he keeps talking about??

Indeed. An ISRA endorsement today in no way gets Rauner closer to a plurality next month. In fact, if someone says something crazy at the presser, it could sting him but good.
What’s hilarious is that McCann was a solid Rauner supporter — except for one meaningless vote for his district.
Rauner’s hysterical bully-boy reaction to that was meant not only to punish McCann, but to intimidate all other GOP GA members to toe the line, always.
How’s that strategery looking these days?

=How’s that strategery looking these days?=
Priceless.

I am a gun owner and strongly believe in the 2nd Amendment and the rest of the Constitution for that matter. That said this is an example of why I don’t belong to the ISRA.

How valuable is an endorsement from the good old boys at ISRA anyway? Pearson fought every effort to bring citizen carry to Illinois for years, that’s why Major John Birch formed Concealed Carry, Inc. in 1997, because the fossils at ISRA were doing nothing. After Pearson conned Otis McDonald into signing on to the lawsuit against Chicago, he now thinks concealed carry was his idea all along. Maybe Pearson will be forcibly removed like former NRA lobbyist Todd Vandermyde, and do gun owners a favor by disappearing. ISRA is useless.

Any word from the little old ladies club that sees Bruce as their only hope?

No doubt this is aimed at McCann and to some extent the Ives base. There seems to be a reason this announcement is in southern Illinois and not in the suburbs. Heck he can run ads on his signing the 72 hour bill and the Lethal Order of protection bill in the suburbs. Of course he would need money to spend. And there is the whole care to spend money thing as well.

I’m guessing not his given name?
This particular John Birch, he’s a “major” what, exactly?
- RNUG - Tuesday, Oct 16, 18 @ 12:44 pm:
Predictable and understandable.
But the ISRA’s single minded focus is also why I don’t belong to that organization.

Oh yea, the ISRA swings my vote.

Oh brother… there will be a bunch of JB will steal your guns ads now. I’m sick of the lies the gun groups spreads.

Yipee
More flair for Rauners’ vest.
