*** UPDATE *** Rauner campaign communications director Will Allison…
JB Pritzker has spent the last month being investigated for tax fraud and sued for discrimination, so it’s no wonder he’s bringing in President Obama at the last minute. This proves that this race is much tighter than public polling and pundits have indicated, and the momentum is with Governor Rauner in this final stretch.

Low turnout in Chicago and Cook really helped Rauner four years ago…he won’t get that boost this year.
The vote by mail numbers in the ‘burbs are worth watching. If we have some super-close legislative races, we might not know the outcome until December.

Those are more appropriate comparisons than the one with 2016 yesterday.
Neither one of those is good for Rauner.

There may be a discrepancy in the Sun-Times report of Cook County early voting. The CS-T is reporting the majority of early voters are men. The Cook County Clerk and other news outlets are reporting that the majority are women (at the same percentage).
Great to see Obama come home to stump and what a contrast he is to Trump.

Bo is a terrific politician. This midterm election could rival the 2010 midterm tsunami that occurred during his first term. I still dont understand this, but i am almost thinking this is the new norm.

Obama…wait a second. Is he the guy who gave up his Illinois Senate seat for Raoul?

Hey Grandson, think he will be taking credit for the economy, like he did in his speech at UIUC?

(Sigh)
Let’s break this down…
===JB Pritzker has spent the last month being investigated for tax fraud and sued for discrimination, so it’s no wonder he’s bringing in President Obama at the last minute. This proves that this race is much tighter than public polling and pundits have indicated, and the momentum is with Governor Rauner in this final stretch.===
“JB Pritzker has spent the last month being investigated for tax fraud and sued for discrimination”
The gross malpractice of the Pritzker Crew here is low hanging fruit. It’s not making headway, but if it were closer…
“…so it’s no wonder he’s bringing in President Obama at the last minute.”
Wasn’t the ding that Pritzker backed Clinton? So Obama’s coming and it about desperation? They are confused.
“This proves”
Nothing, but go on…
“..,that this race is much tighter than public polling and pundits have indicated”
They have a poll showing a tighter race? Yes? No?… hmm.
“…and the momentum is with Governor Rauner in this final stretch.”
If Pritzker is leaking oil… it’s from an 18 point to 14 point kinda leak, but…

To the Rauner campaign’s response:
hahahahahahahahahahaha.
ha.
- Grandson of Man - Wednesday, Oct 31, 18 @ 12:57 pm:
Pritzker will appear onstage with Obama, unlike Rauner’s debacle with Trump, in which Trump did not even mention or see Rauner, who was panderin’ on steroids with his jacket and hat.
- Oswego Willy - Wednesday, Oct 31, 18 @ 12:57 pm:
Maybe the Rauner update is…
“Yeah, it’s getting closer, we’re still far behind, now Obama’s coming in to finish Bruce off”
… maybe that’s what they’re saying.
- Anon62704 - Wednesday, Oct 31, 18 @ 1:07 pm:
=[…] and the momentum is with Governor Rauner in this final stretch.=
Someone should have told Donald Trump.
- Seats - Wednesday, Oct 31, 18 @ 1:08 pm:
To the Rauner Update:. It appears Obama is also speaking in Indiana on the same day.
- Henry Francis - Wednesday, Oct 31, 18 @ 1:17 pm:
To the update: you would think the Guv’s campaign would be excited about a President of the United States coming to the state who will actually acknowledge Bruce as the Guv.
He doesn’t always get that.
- Whatever - Wednesday, Oct 31, 18 @ 1:21 pm:
== so it’s no wonder he’s bringing in President Obama at the last minute. This proves that this race is much tighter than public polling and pundits have indicated==
Yeah, winning a majority in the federal House doesn’t mean a thing to the Democrats or President Obama.
- Anonymous - Wednesday, Oct 31, 18 @ 1:32 pm:
To rauner update. Keep telling yourself that brother. It’s how you got down double digits in the first place
- Arsenal - Wednesday, Oct 31, 18 @ 1:33 pm:
There’s definitely a sense that JB’s crew doesn’t think they have won yet (while Rauner’s crew does appear to think it has lost). But one shouldn’t over look the AG race and the two Congressional races that will also be served by this rally.
- Practical Politics - Wednesday, Oct 31, 18 @ 3:42 pm:
@Arsenal:
It made me wonder if the “Blue Wave” is for real why is it necessary for Obama to campaign on behalf of the ticket in Illinois? Aren’t there some battleground states where other races are much tighter? I thought that this was a done deal.
