    Aliens For Bruce

  3. - Huh? - Friday, Nov 2, 18 @ 9:35 am:

Come next year’s planting time, those ruts are going to be a nuisance to drive over.

Must be a newby farmer planning this year’s corn maze.

  4. - Stark - Friday, Nov 2, 18 @ 9:35 am:

    Effective. If planes voted.

  5. - wordslinger - Friday, Nov 2, 18 @ 9:37 am:

Some aliens really do mean you harm.

  6. - Retired Educator - Friday, Nov 2, 18 @ 9:38 am:

Next field-Have a brewski with him.

  7. - Oswego Willy - Friday, Nov 2, 18 @ 9:38 am:

Will be a nice reminder to Bruce and Diana Rauner as they fly to Italy…

  8. - Oswego Willy - Friday, Nov 2, 18 @ 9:39 am:

On the flip side… ok, that’s cool.

  9. - Oswego Willy - Friday, Nov 2, 18 @ 9:39 am:

    They spelled “Diana” wrong…

  10. - City Guy - Friday, Nov 2, 18 @ 9:40 am:

Effective for the super rich flying in private planes on their way to their second homes.

  11. - beach panda - Friday, Nov 2, 18 @ 9:42 am:

Why didn’t he mention the county so I can fly over in my twin prop later?

  12. - Leigh John-Ella - Friday, Nov 2, 18 @ 9:43 am:

So that’s what Trumps $12 billion in federal emergency aid to farmers looks like.

  13. - Henry Francis - Friday, Nov 2, 18 @ 9:43 am:

    Cash crop

  14. - Oswego Willy - Friday, Nov 2, 18 @ 9:44 am:

Reminds me of the last episode of M*A*S*H.

There was a different message in the rocks, but I digress…

  15. - VanillaMan - Friday, Nov 2, 18 @ 9:44 am:

So, the alien sees this, lands and says,
“Take us to your REAL leader.”

  16. - VanillaMan - Friday, Nov 2, 18 @ 9:46 am:

We now know who is going to carry Tuesday’s corn vote.

  17. - Dance Band on the Titanic - Friday, Nov 2, 18 @ 9:46 am:

Cool, but hard to see from a Harley.

  18. - lakeside - Friday, Nov 2, 18 @ 9:48 am:

Better penmanship than most people. Seriously, it can’t be easy to get it that even.

  19. - VanillaMan - Friday, Nov 2, 18 @ 9:48 am:

Voters in a vegitative state of mind, vote Rauner.

  20. - Palatine Pop - Friday, Nov 2, 18 @ 9:48 am:

Clever…fact is the photo is getting spread on social media. Apparently the farmers think Rauner is the only candidate who they can trust.

  21. - Thought - Friday, Nov 2, 18 @ 9:49 am:

    Wealthy country boys can survive?

  22. - Anonish - Friday, Nov 2, 18 @ 9:49 am:

The campaign continues to refine its messaging strategy to connect with the average voter.

  23. - Anonimity - Friday, Nov 2, 18 @ 9:50 am:

An inescapable maze. Appropriate for Rauner’s first term.

  24. - Huh? - Friday, Nov 2, 18 @ 9:51 am:

Campaign advertising for an arbitrary candidate named “Bruce”, visible only by planes going over fly over country.

Like Bruce Bistline running for Idaho AG.

  25. - JS Mill - Friday, Nov 2, 18 @ 9:57 am:

=Apparently the farmers think Rauner is the only candidate who they can trust.=

You mean they guy who tried to cut funding for Ag Education among other Ag related cuts? That’s they guy they trust? Do they believe the story about his grandparents too?

Sometimes you get what you deserve I guess.

  26. - Anonymouse - Friday, Nov 2, 18 @ 9:57 am:

With crops harvested, Illinois farmers have begun spreading manure in preparation for next year.

  28. - Annonin' - Friday, Nov 2, 18 @ 10:02 am:

    looks photo shopped to us

  29. - Big Joe - Friday, Nov 2, 18 @ 10:07 am:

Looks photoshopped to me. If it is real, people arriving by plane can wonder who Bruce is.

  30. - Streator Curmudgeon - Friday, Nov 2, 18 @ 10:07 am:

Migrating geese flying over it respond with a message of their own.

  31. - Kayak - Friday, Nov 2, 18 @ 10:10 am:

Rauner Hybrids: Even lower yields than expected.

  32. - Streator Curmudgeon - Friday, Nov 2, 18 @ 10:10 am:

Most farmers are die-hard Republicans. Will get some “atta-boys” at the grain elevator, but it’s preaching to the choir.

  33. - Streator Curmudgeon - Friday, Nov 2, 18 @ 10:13 am:

As jets bound for O’Hare fly over this, flight attendants notice a large demand for airsickness bags.

  34. - wordslinger - Friday, Nov 2, 18 @ 10:18 am:

–Apparently the farmers think Rauner is the only candidate who they can trust.–

Sure, this one farmer proves “the farmers” are monolithic and walk in lock-step.

Rauner has proven he can be trusted to shut “the farmers” out of an alleged trade mission to two of their biggest customers, China and Japan.

  35. - Anon - Friday, Nov 2, 18 @ 10:21 am:

One yard sign per six houses, that’s about the same as my block in Chicago.

  36. - TinyDancer(FKASue) - Friday, Nov 2, 18 @ 10:22 am:

Oops…poor planning…they ran out of space.

    Left off the word “out.”

  37. - Soccermom - Friday, Nov 2, 18 @ 10:22 am:

The technology involved in these kinds of precision mows is pretty cool.

Shouldn’t see the row lines beneath the letters. But nice try Paul lol

  39. - West Sider - Friday, Nov 2, 18 @ 10:28 am:

There’s a reason they call it “Flyover Country”

  40. - DeseDemDose - Friday, Nov 2, 18 @ 10:37 am:

    Photoshop baloney.

  41. - Tallgonzo - Friday, Nov 2, 18 @ 10:42 am:

It’s like yard signs. The neighbor in the top left has what looks like, “Vote the wait.”

  42. - Anonymous - Friday, Nov 2, 18 @ 10:42 am:

    Crop circles for Bruce.

  43. - 47th Ward - Friday, Nov 2, 18 @ 10:43 am:

Good luck stealing this yard sign.

  44. - OneMan - Friday, Nov 2, 18 @ 10:45 am:

Not to be outdone, a team of roofers is currently working to make a subdivision’s roofs spell out
    ‘Hey JB’

  45. - OneMan - Friday, Nov 2, 18 @ 10:48 am:

In response the Pritzer campaign on-line team has paid for ads in front of every Green Acers video, every Orion Samuelson video on YouTube as well as ads on the Songs to Drive a John Deer to playlist on Spotify

  46. - Scamp640 - Friday, Nov 2, 18 @ 10:55 am:

    This is sad.

I don’t know if this particular farmer has off-farm employment. However, I know many farmers in downstate Illinois whose spouse works at a public university, community college, or K-12 public school because that is where the good health care benefits and retirement benefits come from. And yet, these same farmers gleefully cheer as Rauner guts universities, K-12 Schools, and teacher unions. The inability of many “free-market” conservatives to see how they benefit from a well-funded system of schools and universities, including as the source of their health care benefits, is painful to contemplate.

  47. - Lefty Lefty - Friday, Nov 2, 18 @ 11:01 am:

It also says “BUILD THE WALL” in the upper left. This farmer/alien has a number of great messages for no one to see.

  48. - don the legend - Friday, Nov 2, 18 @ 11:03 am:

Apparently Farmer Bruce didn’t think to do this on his own recently purchased Sangamon County farm.

  49. - HUH - Friday, Nov 2, 18 @ 11:13 am:

Interesting that his description on Twitter is Governor candidate. Did he forget that he is already Governor?

  50. - Earnest - Friday, Nov 2, 18 @ 11:13 am:

The obvious: you reap what you sow.

  51. - A guy - Friday, Nov 2, 18 @ 11:25 am:

    I expected more stalking here…

  52. - Grandson of Man - Friday, Nov 2, 18 @ 11:26 am:

    NO

  53. - DDW - Friday, Nov 2, 18 @ 11:28 am:

Yes! Springsteen would make an awesome Governor!

  54. - Jocko - Friday, Nov 2, 18 @ 11:32 am:

What Rauner doesn’t know is that the farmer is starting a write-in campaign for “The Boss”.

  55. - Oswego Willy - Friday, Nov 2, 18 @ 11:41 am:

Using barren land within a harvested crop to make Bruce’s name… there is some poetry to that, isn’t there?

  56. - Chris P. Bacon - Friday, Nov 2, 18 @ 11:46 am:

I’ve driven across the state, and actually you don’t see a lot of Rauner signs. Very few. But how nice that people flying from NY to LA might see this one. Will really move the needle.

  57. - Oswego Willy - Friday, Nov 2, 18 @ 11:48 am:

Rauner’s scorched earth strategy wants you to remember who to vote for….

  58. - Huh? - Friday, Nov 2, 18 @ 11:56 am:

I wish my doppelganger at 11:13 would quit posting with my handle.

  59. - XDNR - Friday, Nov 2, 18 @ 12:08 pm:

    “Field of Dreams”

  60. - Anonymous - Friday, Nov 2, 18 @ 12:46 pm:

    Subsidized Trail of Tears!

  61. - GOP - Friday, Nov 2, 18 @ 1:33 pm:

In a college election, when my opponent had 2 dorm floor windows saying vote on one floor and his name on the floor below, I got the students on the floor above those to put the word ‘don’t’ in their window. Maybe the farmer next door should try that. (I won that election)
