See your brother. And if anyone complains about Snoop Dog, inform them know Ted Nugent is coming to Springfield October 1st. Not a State event, but in a public facility (convention center).
Definitely go, even if only to see your brother and spend time with family. Speaking from experience and sorrow, I say you need to treasure every opportunity. Take in the DuQuoin Fair, just to see something different.
Don’t get your hopes up for Snoop to put on a good show. He does an absolutely awful live show. Saw him in St Louis a few years ago at Lou Fest and he was brutal. People were walking out in droves. The subsequent reviews in the Post-Dispatch ripped him pretty good. Then, after more reading, I found that it’s now a consensus universally that his live show is terrible.

If you want to see your brother, then yes you should go.
If you want to go to a fair, then no. It is terrible. Worse than most county fairs.
- NIU Grad - Friday, Aug 16, 19 @ 3:05 pm:
As a loyal reader, I would love to hear all about how the ridiculousness/boycott pans out down there.
- Eire17 - Friday, Aug 16, 19 @ 3:06 pm:

- OneMan - Friday, Aug 16, 19 @ 3:08 pm:
Ye, see your brother and if you catch the parade you can see the responce to the governor and hear some strange stuff.

- btowntruth from forgottonia - Friday, Aug 16, 19 @ 3:10 pm:
Go.
Catch a concert there if you can.
- Rutro - Friday, Aug 16, 19 @ 3:10 pm:

- Oswego Willy - Friday, Aug 16, 19 @ 3:11 pm:
See family.
If you get the chance, see family.
Report back. Have fun.
- Blue Dog Dem - Friday, Aug 16, 19 @ 3:14 pm:
Rich. Kinda curious. With your celebrity status, how do you avoid the autograph seekers and paparazzi at these public outings?
- Ron Burgundy - Friday, Aug 16, 19 @ 3:14 pm:
Yes. We need an on site correspondent for any confederate nonsense that might occur. Also you can opine firsthand on whether it should continue.
- Annon3 - Friday, Aug 16, 19 @ 3:15 pm:
Never miss an opportunity to spend time with your brother. The people watching should be priceless.

- SSL - Friday, Aug 16, 19 @ 3:34 pm:
Sure thing. Spending time with family is always good. Just be careful when they ask everyone to rise for the pledge.
- JoanP - Friday, Aug 16, 19 @ 3:38 pm:
Any chance to see family is a chance that should be taken.
And BONUS! You can tell us whether the boycott was successful, and report on any shenanigans.
- DuPage Saint - Friday, Aug 16, 19 @ 3:54 pm:
Go. It is always nice to visit a foreign country
If Snoop had a sense of humor he would wear a confederate flag patch

You’ll never regret time you spent with your brother, so go.
Also, the Fair should be interesting—if not, kick back, have a corn dog, and while away the day with your brother.
