Question of the day
Thursday, Sep 5, 2019 - Posted by Rich Miller
* I have a number of errands to run that can’t be done after work or on the weekend, so I’m outta here for a bit. How about your predictions for tonight’s big football game?…
The Green Bay Packers have dominated their rivalry with the Chicago Bears since Aaron Rodgers has led the green-and-gold offense, but Chicago went 12-4 last year, qualified for the playoffs and returns the top-ranked defense. Green Bay has a new head coach and new outlook, and the two NFC hopefuls face off in the 2019 NFL Kickoff Game on Thursday night at 8:20 p.m. ET from Soldier Field. Matt LaFleur takes over as head coach in Green Bay, while Matt Nagy enters his second year in Chicago after a successful rookie campaign. The latest Packers vs. Bears odds show Chicago as a three-point favorite, down from the opening line of -4. The over-under, or total points Vegas thinks will be scored, is 46.5 after opening at 46. In the 17-year history of the NFL Kickoff Game, the home team has won 14 times.

Bears win going away. LaFleur rethinks his football career and takes up hockey.

Just booked my bet at the Hammond casino. Took the Bears with the spread.
They had an express line for just the Bears spread bets so that was quick. But the line for any other bets was huge.

Da’ Bears 173 Packers negative 42 with Ditka playing tight end in a return to greatness.

Recording it, no spoilers. They’ll take it one game at a time and give it 110%.
- OutOfState - Thursday, Sep 5, 19 @ 3:20 pm:
Packers 23 - Bears 20
After a strong Bears start culminating in a 13-3 lead at halftime, Rodgers has a strong 3rd quarter showing, with a TD and an FG, while the Bears get shut out in the 3rd. Bears come back with a TD to take back the lead 20-13. Packers get one more FG to bring the game to 20-16. Trubisky looks good until an interception in the Red Zone allows Green Bay to get down the field for a TD with less than 2 minutes. Bears can’t handle a 49-yard field goal, sealing the Packers’ win.

It’s the NFL, so any given Sunday, etc. Based on overall talent and experience, though, Bears, at home, should win by double digits.

As a Bear’s fan, I’m sad to say that I think the Packers will beat the Bears, 10-3.

Phil Collins wasn’t far off. He ought to find a bookie for the Sunday games.
