Unclear on the concept

* Tribune…
Senate President John Cullerton on Wednesday called the FBI raids on longtime Democratic state Sen. Martin Sandoval’s home and government offices “very troubling.”
“It doesn’t look good, but we don’t know what it’s about,” Cullerton, a Chicago Democrat, said. “We don’t know if he’s the subject matter, but it looks like it’s a criminal investigation.” […]
“They’re still serving in the General Assembly, I think we should probably wait and see if Sen. Sandoval is the subject matter of the inquiry, right?” Cullerton said. “Let’s make some informed decisions after we see what happens. It’s too early to tell.”
Yeah, the feds secured search warrants for Sandoval’s district office, his Statehouse office and his house in order to find something on… somebody else?
C’mon, man.

As an aside- Sen Menendez from NJ Remained in office post indictment. We all know how that worked out. No fan of Sandoval but there is no reason for him to step down at this juncture

With the IRS agents there, they had a pretty good idea what they were looking for. Time to start putting some daylight between yourself and any targets.

I speculated Cullerton and Crew were waiting for Sandoval to speak. This statement is terribly disappointing.
Sandoval has not been convicted, or even indicted of a crime as of my comment.
Removing him from a chairmanship where possible malice or impropriety could be, that’s a proper governing move.
I do not call for his resignation, we are all presume innocent until proven guilty.
The chairman role is something that can be taken for everyone’s sake.

Tough time for the leader. First his brother now this…

When the feds come for you, it’s time to resign.

Actually two words: “Distant Cousin”
To the statement from The Senate President: ——-
Kinda similar to his.

If you don’t get the joke you don’t know why it’s funny.
To the Post,
Sandoval’s silence up to this moment almost warrants a move by Cullerton, mostly by veto session when the real questions will be harder to blow off.

Not a great summer for the Senate Dems. As for Sandoval, he should be temporarily removed from the chairmanship and leadership position until this concludes one way or another. He should resign if he did actually push contracts and received kickbacks (allegedly).
Watching how they handled Silverstein, then T. Cullerton, and now Sandoval will show a lot about the President.

Senate Democrats have a long history of ignoring problems and wishing they would just go away

is Madigan, Roger “Verbal” Kint or Keyser Soze in this play? I can never remember how this movie ends.

Patterson could have written something a little more philosophical for Cullerton…like “This, too, shall pass.”

LaShawn Ford.
Let’s see some more cards from the Feds before we argue Sandoval should toss his in.

The silence is deafening. It would be nice to hear Sandoval say something.
But until we know more, or he’s charged, calls for resignation are premature.
I can’t get the COPS theme out of my head. What you gonna do when they come for you…

Thanks Rich! 😂😂😂

Just look at Tom Cullerton. Even when Sandoval is indicted, none of the “good government progressives” will be calling on him to resign.
- Not a Billionaire - Wednesday, Sep 25, 19 @ 9:36 pm:
If you should resign because Feds then Trump should have resigned the day Mueller was appointed.
- truthtopower - Wednesday, Sep 25, 19 @ 9:51 pm:
Sandoval was elected to do a job, and he should continue to do it. Under our law he is presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. To date the good Senator has not even been charged with any criminal offense. Don’t forget Ald. Burke was even reelected after being indicted. He too is presumed innocent.
