Nothing is ever easy, but persistence pays off for @ChicagoBars (and everyone)
Monday, Oct 21, 2019 - Posted by Rich Miller * These were, I think, the second and third posts by the genius behind the @ChicagoBars Twitter account about the American flag flying outside the Thompson Center…
* The Pritzker administration took notice…
* But, like @ChicagoBars said, nothing is ever easy…
* All’s well that ends well…
Hat tip to Hannah Meisel. I am a loyal @ChicagoBars follower, but I had somehow missed this entire thing until she tweeted about it.

Bad - 7,689,352

This is cool stuff to both governing and outreach.

FWIW, during the budget standoff Bruce Rauner maintained perfect flags on his biker boy vest.

Governing by social media account is a train wreck waiting to happen.
Stuff getting fixed/done right should not so routinely depend upon mentions in the “right” twitter account or blog.
ChicagoBars at some point in there pinged the @CMSIllinois account…no response.
This is how Quincy veteran’s home happened. Government by Twitter marginalized people not on Twitter.

Maybe that condor is also used to clean the windows of the lobby.
There does seem to be an architect’s blind spot. I can’t tell you how many buildings I’ve seen that have light fixtures in places where you can’t easily change the bulb, above staircases etc. Because bulbs never burn out, and flags never rip.

The last time CMS moved rapidly was to assist the Sangamon County GOP after an acquittal in the federally flubbed MSI trials … /s ??

Rauner administration:We would fix these flags if it wasn’t for these corrupt unions and AFSCAMMY.
Pritzker administration:Flags fixed.

Anna, why can’t the IL State Police who protect the building take this on? Let’s reduce unnecessary spending on having to hire a firm to do flags. Please?
