A picture is worth a thousand words
Thursday, Nov 7, 2019 - Posted by Rich Miller * From the left, Rep. Joyce Mason, Rep. Mary Edly-Allen, Rep. Rita Mayfield, Gov. JB Pritzker and Rep. Daniel Didech. All Democrats…
The only House member in that pic who voted for the gas tax increase is Rep. Didech. Reps. Mason and Edly-Allen both voted “No” and Rep. Mayfield didn’t vote. By the way, no reporters showed up for that Lake County event.

Hey JS Mill, those named in the article are all Lake County Democrats. Try again. Were any Republicans even invited to this event?

Oof. That’s always an awkward thing for the participants standing behind the Governor knowing that they look like props in a show no one will ever see.

If you want a picture of republicans standing behind the gov presenting new infrastructure plans, the I55/airport rd interchange had a visit from the gov yesterday. Rep batinick is standing in the background, and voted no for the infrastructure plan.
Also in the picture is the mayor of plainfield, who never misses an opportunity at local board meetings to blame all of the local problems on the state.

IDOT has a 5 year plan that would have included a big part of the jobs you see JD taking credit for. Now every road project is going to have Rebuild Illinois on it. Would no road work have been completed without the tax hike??
- Oswego Willy - Thursday, Nov 7, 19 @ 3:30 pm:
See… phony *is* bipartisan.
You drag the governor someplace in hopes for press and no press shows?

Will the gov’s office issue press credentials to cap fax commenters?

I guess if you build it they don’t always come. Maybe that only works in the movies.

Rich, that’s why this message board (without a delete button) is like Omar Khayyam’s “moving finger”. Whenever one of us human commentators has a hasty and erroneous thought, it is there for the ages.

The “No” voters were seen grumbling to each other while the picture was taken; “yeah, I’ll take the gravy…..but I’m NOT happy about it”. On this, they believe they are thereby taking a principled stand.
