In total reported cases, Will county passed up the 50% more populated Dupage county last week. This week it looks likely that Will county will pass up Lake county, becoming the county with the most cases in the whole state outside of Cook county.
There are entire cities in Will county where police are still actively encouraging people to find loopholes to the stay-at-home directive and gather outside in groups.

With the lowest number of tests delta too. Gotta be a green shoot.

It’s tough to be optimistic but we need to try.

FYI Rich: That University of Washington model has been updated. Now projecting 1,248 deaths in Illinois (by August). Peak deaths and resources on April 8, 2020. 68,841 deaths projected nationwide (again, by August). Assumes social distancing through May 2020.

It’s a lot easier to be optimistic than it was a week ago. Less than 800 deaths and a flattening curve. Just a week ago JB was still looking at 3,500 as an estimate, and while it is awful for all those who have been killed by this virus, it is possible the worst is past.

===it is possible the worst is past===
Deaths are a lagging indicator. 3-4 weeks.

Now in 85% of Illinois counties. Although 10 of the counties with no cases are in the Republic of Halbrook.
