With more than a Trillion dollars of stimulus money flying everywhere will the FBI and US Attorney’s Office be looking for the corruption that’s sure to be in full force?
“With more than a Trillion dollars of stimulus money flying everywhere will the FBI and US Attorney’s Office be looking for the corruption that’s sure to be in full force?”

Not “quite” a trillion dollars involved, but also in the corruption department.
But Candace Wanzo is back in the news today, Bruce Rushton was finally able to obtain her SOS personnel file. His Illinois Times article today, which he also talked about on Sam Madonia’s show this morning:
“After Candace Wanzo was walked out of the secretary of state’s office, where she was a supervisor in the vehicle licensing division, investigators with the inspector general’s office searched her office, plus storage areas, and found more than $155,410 in uncashed checks and money orders made out to the state.
Love that early 80’s Hawk pic. Only thing missing is Don Drysdale next to him in a Members Only jacket.

The Hawkaroo! He’s ready to start golfing (he lives in Indiana though). Big concession by the NCAA yesterday, good news for athletes. The sand is shifting for the crumbling NCAA.

For the Love of Pete, I didn’t need to see the headline, Yadi is willing to test free agancy.
Mo better do whatever it takes to keep Yadi in STL. The blow back from the fans won’t be pleasant for Mo if Molina ends his career anywhere but in STL.
Actually, there’s a lot more than that. Seems we’ve forgotten that in the earlier round of coronavirus stimulus, Congress authorized the Fed to dole $4 trillion in low and zero interest loans to big business. While publicly traded companies, banks, and investment funds aren’t supposed to get PPP grants, the Fed loans are specifically for them. Should help the hedge fund millionaires recover from their stock market losses. But heaven forbid public pension funds see any of those loans to make up for the carnage done to their investments.
Love the Hawk. Great tv fundraising event last night on NBC sports Chicago. Music, lots of chicago sports figures dialing it in via Zoom, 2005 Sox members including Ozzie, surprising fans who are health care workers with their fav sports figure, really good 4 hours of nothing but love.

He just didn’t know????
I visited Cooperstown years ago and was somewhat taken aback by the Ford C. Frick Award. All of the media talk about radio and television broadcasters being admitted to the Baseball Hall of Fame once the awardees are named. While it is technically true that the broadcasters are feted and allowed an opportunity to make a speech, the reality is that their names are merely inscribed on an award plaque opposite the names of previous recipients.
Unlike players, the broadcasters were not given individual plaques with their images cast in bronze.
I am feeling old. I recall the year that Playboy ranked Hawk as the “worst” baseball broadcaster in a team by team critique of the voices of the game.
This was about twenty-five years ago.
Did Mr. Rushton find out if a criminal background check was run on Candace Wanzo? His silence suggests yes, and it didn’t pick up her previous conviction in federal court. Something OEIG has noted in other hiring decisions.
= will the FBI and US Attorney’s Office be looking for the corruption that’s sure to be in full force?= Trillions in stimulus is a corruption tidal wave coming. Not sure Trump is going to allow William Barr or the FBI director to investigate any of scams until after November 3rd. After all we gotta protect the President.

At this rate, they may still be shoveling money out in November.
Regardless, I agree there won’t be any investigations until next year some time. They are having trouble just getting the money out, so you know they don’t have all the books in order; I’m sure bookkeeping entries are low priority / non-essential right now.
The recent release of the videos of Chicago police shooting an unarmed man in a subway seems to have been overlooked with all the concentration on the virus.

I found the NFL Draft to be really entertaining this year. They did a great job given the format. Hopefully the Bears didn’t blow their picks again.

Excellent sentiment by Hawk. I enjoy some of his great calls, like the Wise catch and final out of the Buehrle perfect game.
