Um, that’s the White House plan

Thursday, Apr 30, 2020 - Posted by Rich Miller

* Second City Cop

The leftists in many state governments are actively attempting to wreck the economy in the hopes of removing the current Administration in DC. This is what Virginia had in place, but it’s basically the same across the country:

    • Moving downward: percentage of positive tests over 14 days
    • Moving downward: hospitalizations over 14 days
    • Enough hospital beds and intensive care capacity
    • Increasing and sustainable supply of PPE

*facepalm*

* That’s the White House plan. An excerpt from an April 16 post entitled “White House releases its plan”

* The White House’s plan for “reopening” the economy has a lot of thoughtful and wise preconditions. For instance, this is something we’ve been talking about this week and it’s in an integral part of the initial “gating criteria”…

Downward trajectory of documented cases within a 14-day period

    OR

Downward trajectory of positive tests as a percent of total tests within a 14-day period (flat or increasing volume of tests)

That is hugely important. And we are not yet there by any means and nobody really knows when we will be, either nationally or in Illinois. To be on the safe side, the guidelines also include a mandate for a two-week downward trajectory of influenza-like illnesses and covid-like syndromic cases.

* Also, hospitals must be doing this…

Treat all patients without crisis care

    AND

Robust testing program in place for at-risk healthcare workers, including emerging antibody testing

If you click here, you’ll see all the points listed above are actually not from “leftist” governors, but from the White House.

Second City Cop and a third-rate intellect.

  2. - Nearly Normal - Thursday, Apr 30, 20 @ 11:34 am:

Once again the FACTS ruin a rant spread far and wide. Sad thing is once these rants are out there it is hard for many to accept the facts that refute them.

  3. - @misterjayem - Thursday, Apr 30, 20 @ 11:35 am:

Clearly the White House is a puppet of the leftist governors.

    Gotta connect the dots, Rich‼

    I wonder………they know this is b.s., right?
I mean they don’t actually believe their own b.s., do they?

  5. - Oswego Willy - Thursday, Apr 30, 20 @ 11:37 am:

Calling out a plan to own the libs that the Trump White House created.. to own the libs?

    That’s fun.

  6. - anoni - Thursday, Apr 30, 20 @ 11:38 am:

Cops are so hard-hit by this disease; the numbers testing positive in the City are large, and include fatalities.
Why they would advocate for putting more infected people into their streets so they would be interacting with them is beyond comprehension.

  7. - charles in charge - Thursday, Apr 30, 20 @ 11:39 am:

Second City Cop is a cesspool.

  8. - Roadrager - Thursday, Apr 30, 20 @ 11:40 am:

Ol’ SCC has never been one to let facts get in the way of a good time. It’s hard to be a rampaging bigot even by the standards of the Chicago Police Department, but he’s been consistently succeeding for well over 15 years.

  9. - Candy Dogood - Thursday, Apr 30, 20 @ 11:41 am:

Sometimes I think Second City Cop is basically just a troll farm.

And then I look at the history of policing in Chicago.

  10. - Grandson of Man - Thursday, Apr 30, 20 @ 11:41 am:

“that the Trump White House created“

When someone who wants to consider ingesting household cleaning products to treat the virus is more reasonable than the coronavirus liberators.

  11. - XDNR - Thursday, Apr 30, 20 @ 11:44 am:

Oh they love their conspiracy theories don’t they, it’s good for the cool aid.

  12. - Nagidam - Thursday, Apr 30, 20 @ 11:55 am:

What I don’t understand about Rep. Bailey and others that say they should I do not be held hostage because of Chicago, show us your statistics according to the Trump guidelines. If your region has the data to open up then prove it. The governor has the ability to open up individual counties.

  13. - Chicago 20 - Thursday, Apr 30, 20 @ 12:01 pm:

Does this mean that Trump went so far to the right he is now on the left?

  14. - a drop in - Thursday, Apr 30, 20 @ 12:03 pm:

“I mean they don’t actually believe their own b.s., do they?”

Yes, they do. I have a few extreme rightists on FB and they think the only true news comes from Breitbart, OAN or Newsmax. Even Fox news is suspect.

  15. - @misterjayem - Thursday, Apr 30, 20 @ 12:04 pm:

“Why they would advocate for putting more infected people into their streets so they would be interacting with them is beyond comprehension.”

The post kinda gives it away.

Their primary concern is propping up the economy’s numbers to support the re-election of “the current Administration in DC.”

May be true for many with otherwise inexplicable motives.

  16. - former southerner - Thursday, Apr 30, 20 @ 12:06 pm:

Post COVID when things begin to approach normal, the next big health undertaking by the state should be psychological testing of the Chicago police force to weed out the problem children who create problems for the “civilians” and their fellow LEOs.

  17. - Anon - Thursday, Apr 30, 20 @ 12:07 pm:

That is why America will not be able to conquer this illness once you have a section of the population fighting and not complying then it just starts all over again becoming an endless cycle. If there was complete support from the top we would be able to move forward instead the nation and regions will become a social experiment.

  18. - Kire the Kommoner - Thursday, Apr 30, 20 @ 12:38 pm:

Candy Dogood, at a recent IL presser, Dr. Ezike said anyone who had COVID-19 at the time of death, even if the person died of other causes, is counted among the COVID deaths.

Additionally, regarding death certificates, which I see weekly, there is(are) cause(s) of deaths. They are listed in order as to immediate cause (due to or as a consequence of) as a/b/c. A recent COVID death from this month lists a COVID patient. His cause of death was a) Pneumonia, and b) COVID-19.

He was in Health Care already and had pre-existing conditions. Would he have recovered had he not contracted the virus? Who knows. He was quite ill. But he contracted it and as such, it is listed as “a” cause of death, NOT the cause of death.

But yah, the car accident argument/COVID is ridiculous.

  19. - AlfondoGonz - Thursday, Apr 30, 20 @ 12:41 pm:

I’m afraid the loudest majority of conservatives have dropped any pretense of being informed, honest, or forward thinking.

  20. - Grandson of Man - Thursday, Apr 30, 20 @ 12:43 pm:

“If there was complete support from the top”

Trump gives mixed messages. One day he’s shouting “liberate” to states amid protests and today he’s saying Sweden is paying a price for not having a “lockdown.”

  21. - John Deere Green - Thursday, Apr 30, 20 @ 12:47 pm:

    ==That’s the White House plan.==

Counting down time between when they realize this and “update” their post to clarify they were just being “sarcastic” and this, of course, is the greatest plan ever in the history of plans. 3…2…1…

  22. - MrX - Thursday, Apr 30, 20 @ 1:02 pm:

Using the “We don’t a vaccine for HIV” argument” (Ignoring that rates of transmission of HIV are much, much lower than Covid-19) while accusing other of using haphazard “science” is hilarious.

  23. - illinifan - Thursday, Apr 30, 20 @ 1:08 pm:

‘We don’t have a vaccine for HIV’ ignores the fact that you can’t get HIV simply by walking near someone. Yikes, facts do matter.

  24. - Ducky LaMoore - Thursday, Apr 30, 20 @ 1:29 pm:

President Trump… and the leftist governors he controls….

  25. - Cheswick - Thursday, Apr 30, 20 @ 1:42 pm:

I made a mistake. I went and read the comments on that Second City Cop post. I will never do that again.

  26. - revvedup - Thursday, Apr 30, 20 @ 3:03 pm:

I think SCC has slipped a gear on this one, unlike many of the other posts on the corruption and incompetence of the City and CPD, which are often well-supported. SCC’s position on Covid 19 is just off the rails, as are some of the replies to the posts.

  27. - Da Big Bad Wolf - Friday, May 1, 20 @ 5:38 am:

revvedup two days ago: “As for Second City Cop Blog, the authors also manage to report on things the lamestream/mass media don’t ever question or investigate.”
Every mainstream paper would like to be the first to have a scoop on Bigfoot. They don’t because it hasn’t been verified he exists.
That’s why SCC always has the scoop on Bigfoot, err “corruption” etc. They don’t bother to verify.
