Gonna be a lot fewer cases this week, with testing sites closed. Will be followed by an explosion next week or two. Buckle up.

I read the Monroe County death was actually attributed to a fall down a set of stairs.

Does anyone know how many PEOPLE have tested positive and how many PEOPLE have been tested?
The numbers seem to generalize specimens but someone could be tested multiple times and but only be 1 positive case. And/or, they could test Negative with symptoms, then positive, then negative (or still positive) and so forth. Very curious if there is any hard data accessible on this matter.

The number of people who have been tested multiple times is a question that has been asked. It’s minimal in the overall picture.

It seems in many cases that what is reported by IDPH is about 24 hours behind what gets reported by individual counties, i.e. what my county releases today will show up on tomorrow’s IDPH report and data. So, given the events of the last 24 - 48 hours I would be a little cautious in celebrating the sudden and significant downturn.

Are all idph testing sites shut down today or just in the city?

Specious comment.
Lowest number of positive cases and the first time below 1,000 since April 5th.
For reference, IDPH reported 5,402 tests on April 5th with 899 positives for a positive rate of 16.6%. Today, there were 974 new cases out of 20,014 tests for a positive rate of 4.8%.
