Big win for Chicago in the IL Supreme Court today.
“The Illinois Supreme Court has ruled against the Chicago Fraternal Order of Police, finding that its contract provision requiring the destruction of police disciplinary records after five years violates public records law.”
My family in New York are grateful that Juneteenth is now a Holiday. They are surprised that Illinois is not following suit. This day has been celebrated for as long as I can remember usually by attending services and being together with friends and barbecue
It’s one thing to say those records are public, but that doesn’t mean a city can consider them in discipline if the contract says they can’t be considered, which I’m guessing it does (but I don’t know).
I recently moved from the city to the suburbs. As part of that, Busse Woods is now conveniently located.
For anyone looking to do a beautiful 7 mile bike ride, that’s a wonderful spot. Trails are well maintained and going through the trees is really nice. Seeing elk is pretty cool too.
Another dumb law suit filed against Pritzker in federal court by the Mayor of Orland Park. He’s complaining the village is bleeding money yet he just wasted about 50k in legal fees.

That, Anon, is very good news. But it’s just a start. The question is what do we do when the FOP calls for a “blue flu” protest?

I think I should go with something positive.
