Mayor Lightfoot has made this claim before. Yet the state is allowing all regions to reopen for indoor dining on June 26 when we reach Phase 4. The city says indoor restaurants can open July 1. So how is this Pritzker's fault? https://t.co/K2FuRUHrny
No. She made the decision to open city restaurants on 7/1 while Pritzker will allow that to occur on 6/26. The only “fight” here would be some weird Jedi mind trick where Prtizker somehow was able to get into Lightfoot’s head and convince her to wait an extra 5 days for no apparent reason.

Another Lightfoot fail. JB isn’t to blame SHE delayed reopening. However, in light of serious spikes in other re-opened/re-opening states (see Arizona and Florida as examples) maybe we shouldn’t rush into higher phases.
And what is her obsession with the lakefront? As long as there are limits on how many people are there, being out in the air is one of the safest places to be.
And agree, MrJM. She does seem to always choose the conflict.
Lightfoot has pulled this same type of stunt several times now. On May 1st, public golf courses in Chicago had to refund greens fees to golfers who registered to play after the governor allowed play to resume (with safety restrictions). At Harbor Side, golfers were already on the course when the mayor announced Chicago golf courses were closed.
What Former Downstater said. Lightfoot never seems to want to take responsibility for anything. It’s gotta make her difficult to work with if she’s constantly tossing blame around.

Throwing the governor under the bus? What is wrong with Lightfoot?

Nothing is ever the Mayor’s fault or wrong doing. Nothing.

And it’s over 5 days? She’s picking a fight over 5 days? This is not the hill to die on.

Given the choice between a win and an unnecessary conflict, Mayor Lightfoot has always taken the conflict.
