Hope that everyone has a nice Fathers Day, celebrating dads, grandfathers, uncles, the men in our lives in the important father role, wishing all the best, especially in today’s difficult times.

Yep, Covid-related expenses for states need to be reimbursed by the feds too. And they will, in spite of Republican opposition. The election and the market will force their hand.
Happy Father’s Day to step dad’s as well. My son became a step dad to a wonderful 12 year old girl whose father passed. A good step father can be a life saver.
Also, in the light of the recent race riots and racial tension since George Floyd’s death, many businesses are either closed all day, or closing early, for Juneteenth. I just received an email that Credit Union 1 (which has traditionally been the State Employees’ credit union) will be closing all their branches early at 2PM this afternoon. Any other companies and businesses closed or closing early today?
Reminder that SOS employees have been back to work, and driver’s facilities open (with precautions, masks, and social distancing, etc.) since June 1. AFAIK the other constitutionals haven’t returned all their employees to work yet. At least not in the Capitol Complex.

Hope everyone enjoys a relaxing weekend….perfect weather for Grilling and chillin with your family and friends (at appropriate distances of course). Get out the SPF 30.
For those of us looking to learn more about the black experience in the US and be more effective supporters, there’s a nifty web page put together by two young women that has some excellent suggestions. https://justiceinjune.org
for what its worth. I thought Sen Durbin handled himself quite well with his use of the word token . Republicans and Democrats. Stop with the madness. Please

Should be a beautiful weekend … even if there is a touch of rain in the forecast.
To quote Sergeant Phil Esterhaus: Let’s be careful out there.
