I think that it is important to recognize that Ms. Sanguinetti is both answering the question and making an attempt at a humorous anecdote while also shielding this harasser from scrutiny and consequences.
We need to stop doing that.

it should shock people that half the world’s population is discriminated against in all sorts of ways on a regular basis. imagine if the public actually took this seriously.
