I really enjoyed Mark Browns column today in the Sun Times. I understand why Preckwinkle got only 25 per cent of the vote for mayor. Kudos to Brown did his homework wrote a great article gave all the facts.
“Does anybody know what down it is? ” Does anybody real care? We’ve got time enough to try…
That said… Worst. 4-1. Team. Ever. It made me think of Dave Wannstadt’s first year when he took an absolute nothing team to the playoffs. I thought he should have gotten some sort of commendation for that. It wasn’t until he started having a hand in the personnel when the true mediocrity showed its head.
I want to thank the State of Illinois and Governor Pritzker et al for establishing the drive up Covid testing sites. My family was tested on Tuesday, and we received the negative results yesterday. This allowed us to travel to a state with a travel ban without breaking any rules as well as with peace of mind that we’re not spreading the virus.
News Gazette is reporting about 160 known cases of students and teachers with COVID from smaller districts in the Champaign area, excluding CU and Danville b/c they are all remote learning. Hundreds are quarantined due to exposure. Strangely, religious schools report no cases. Hmmm….
4-1 is still 4-1 defense put great pressure on Brady most of night no real mental breakdowns in secondary that hit by Fuller damn. Foles functioned well against a really strong D, still need a running attack.
Is it just me, or is anyone else tired of the air raid siren blaring through the Bears game? I’ve never liked it and think they over-use it, but without fans present, it just makes it worse. It’s lame and they should either get rid of it or use it was less frequently.
Agree, a win is a win, our first win against Brady. Parts of the game were pretty bad, like throwing deep and missing when shorter yardage is needed, a porous run defense and not much of a running game. But we stepped up when necessary and the Brady sacks were fun.
There is thick smoke outside Petersburg- it has been there since about 7 AM- smelled it first and now its hanging in the air- not sure if its a field fire or what-
We got the running backs. We need better run blocking. Good D

The Bears should just adopt the old White Sox “Winning Ugly” slogan for the rest of the season, it’s working so far. In addition to the air raid siren, am I the only one annoyed by the crowd sounds from the nonexistent fans in the stands. Maybe it’s just the Fox commitment to “Fake Noise.”

Nagy is his own worst enemy. Never seems to call the right play. Foles had a good second half, as did Mack. Looks like the kicker might stay around. No double doink last night.
And yes, the look on Brady’s face when he realized he wasn’t getting a fifth down was priceless.
==“anyone else tired of the air raid siren ” Frankly, I’m tired of all those 3rd down sound effects. Sirens, ==
Can you imagine having to hear that in Soldier Field during a game, all while a severe thunderstorm and tornado warned storm is heading for Chicago? Think Nov. 17, 2013 with the storm that produced the Washington tornado heading toward Chicago and people in Soldier Field forced to take cover during the game.
Sports Desk: Gonna be a long season at this rate; “Winning Ugly” isn’t even close to that game; anybody know if penalties between the teams exceeded yards gained rushing? Foles needs reps, Brady needs sticky notes to keep track of downs.
Tomorrow is the 50th anniversary of Paul Powell’s passing (Oct. 10, 1970). And the subsequent discovery of the most famous shoeboxes in Illinois history:

They need to run the ball on short yardage. Nagy makes really bad decisions, I think they won despite him. But the D is really good and fun to watch!

I agree. When I first heard that, I thought it was the sound of either the refrigerator breaking down in my apartment, or a fire alarm in the hallway.

@Friendly Bob Adams, Nagy’s play calling on the series for the field goal win was curious. left Brady with too much time.
