Decorating for the calendar not the weather. It’s way too nice out to see this stuff.

I’m dreaming of a warm Christmas.

  7. - Fav Human - Monday, Nov 9, 20 @ 2:17 pm:

If I can’t start working for my fair tax way too early, at least I can get the tree up way too early

“This year, The Burgermeister Meisterburger won”

Is it just me, or is there something funny about that picture? Maybe something anatomical?

    Caption..erecting the Christmas tree.

This now means I can throw out all that Halloween candy I keep eating, finally.

  15. - twowaystreet - Monday, Nov 9, 20 @ 2:25 pm:

Aides repeatedly told the Governor that putting up the tree early wouldn’t make Christmas come any sooner, but the Governor is no stranger to wishful thinking.

  16. - Dl - Monday, Nov 9, 20 @ 2:25 pm:

The kindness and spirit of the holidays wouldn’t be a bad thing to start early this year

  23. - twowaystreet - Monday, Nov 9, 20 @ 2:33 pm:

Holiday decorations come early to the Governor’s mansion this year. Real estate agents wanted to make sure the listing’s photos were festive when the house goes on the market December 1st.

IL GOP: The Governor shows he’s above the rules by not putting a mask on the gate.

  25. - Huh? - Monday, Nov 9, 20 @ 2:47 pm:

A pox on decorating for Christmas before Thanksgiving. Next there will be chemical music in the stores. Ugh.

  26. - Oswego Willy - Monday, Nov 9, 20 @ 2:48 pm:

“That’s a noise,” grinned Ken Griffin, “That I simply MUST hear”
So he paused. And Ken Griffin put his hand to his ear.
And he did hear a sound rising over the snow.
It started in low. Then it started to grow.
But the sound wasn’t sad. Why, this sound sounded merry
It couldn’t be so. But it WAS merry, VERY
He stared down at Springfield. Ken Griffin popped his eyes
Then he shook. What he saw was a shocking surprise.
Every Dem down in Springfield, the tall and the small,
Was working. Without any doom-seeking at all
He HADN’T helped an implosion coming. NONE CAME.
Somehow or other, it seemed just the same.
And Ken Griffin, with his grinch-feet ice-cold in the snow,
Stood puzzling and puzzling: “How could it be so?”
“No implosion with ribbons. No implosion with cuts.”
“No bail out packages, ifs, ands, or buts.”
And he puzzled three hours, till his puzzler was sore.
Then the Grinch thought of something he hadn’t before.
“Maybe Illinois,” he thought, “will last forever more.”
