    =Man, I miss Wordslinger.=

Amen to that brother, amen to that.

  2. - Club J - Wednesday, Dec 16, 20 @ 11:57 am:

I’m really sick of these two disrespectful guys who think they are actually doing something good for the people. Bailey holds a super spreader Christmas function in the middle of a pandemic like the virus is nothing.

I don’t consider myself to be the smartest guy around, but to see all the people who follow him and DeVore like they are the next best thing to sliced bread. There are some real messed up people out there and these two are leading them straight to the ICU and it’s sad. Real sad.

  3. - Thomas Paine - Wednesday, Dec 16, 20 @ 12:01 pm:

    Um:

“The Anti-Jewish Tropes in How the Grinch Stole Christmas”

“The depiction of the Grinch is in keeping with the medieval tradition of viewing the Jew as both an outcast and a baleful force in society”

Going all anti-Christmas on a Jewish governor is a class move.

  4. - illini - Wednesday, Dec 16, 20 @ 12:01 pm:

    === Man, I miss Wordslinger.=== And so do I.

  5. - Oswego Willy - Wednesday, Dec 16, 20 @ 12:03 pm:

    Wordslinger was, and is unmatched.

What he woulda wrote about DeVore and all the Covidiots, and the rest.

    Unmatched.

To feebly comment to this post,

The use of a kids’ story and cartoon to convey a Covidiot message is on par to Bailey and his growth to this global pandemic… and no big words either.

  6. - Roman - Wednesday, Dec 16, 20 @ 12:05 pm:

    == Another professional victim ==

I’m old enough to remember when liberals were the crybabies. Now, thanks in part to Trump, claiming of victimization is a central tenant of American conservatism.

  7. - Jocko - Wednesday, Dec 16, 20 @ 12:08 pm:

==I hope an attorney who cares more about the people==

Based on his post, am I to assume Tom is defending these bars & restaurants pro bono?

  8. - dbk - Wednesday, Dec 16, 20 @ 12:14 pm:

–I hope an attorney who cares more about the people–

You mean “who cares more about the people’s health,” right? /s

  9. - Rudy’s teeth - Wednesday, Dec 16, 20 @ 12:15 pm:

Certainly Doofus Putz is not proposing himself as a candidate for AG.

  10. - Socially DIstant Watcher - Wednesday, Dec 16, 20 @ 12:16 pm:

“Run, Tom, Run,” followed by many exclamation marks

  11. - Henry Francis - Wednesday, Dec 16, 20 @ 12:16 pm:

Devore’s post sounds like a humblebrag to gin up people to urge him to run for AG.

  12. - JS Mill - Wednesday, Dec 16, 20 @ 12:17 pm:

During this season of giving, DeVore and Bailey running for statewide positions would be the ultimate gift for any democratic opponent. Throw in support from Ives and you have a modern day Festivus miracle.

  13. - PublicServant - Wednesday, Dec 16, 20 @ 12:23 pm:

I’ve got a good slogan for him, if he runs:

    DeVorced from Reality

  14. - TheInvisibleMan - Wednesday, Dec 16, 20 @ 12:25 pm:

He sounds pretty optimistic he will still be an attorney.

  15. - Tired Teacher - Wednesday, Dec 16, 20 @ 12:31 pm:

No way those two really believe they are helping people. They are purely moving in ways to promote their own self interest in ways that have caused harm. Awful.

  16. - Manchester - Wednesday, Dec 16, 20 @ 12:32 pm:

And JSMill scores the touchdown. Really good one.

  17. - 618er - Wednesday, Dec 16, 20 @ 12:45 pm:

Well JS they certainly have the Airing of Grievances out of the way..Feats of Strength should be interesting…

  18. - Grandson of Man - Wednesday, Dec 16, 20 @ 12:47 pm:

“DeVore and Bailey running for statewide positions would be the ultimate gift for any democratic opponent”

If Illinois was a swing state Biden won, DeVore would have joined the elite strike force of Rudy, Sidney and Jenna and unleashed the “Kracken” (it’s a thing this election) of sham lawsuits that all lost.

  19. - DEE - Wednesday, Dec 16, 20 @ 12:50 pm:

Every person or entity on the opposite side of the State Of Illinois in any civil or criminal case, based on past timely filed, late filed and unfiled pleadings by DeVore, prays DeVore is elected AG

  20. - Norseman - Wednesday, Dec 16, 20 @ 12:54 pm:

I join the large crowd who miss Word.

I’m sure he would have the response response to the Bailey and DeVores of this state.

  21. - pool boy - Wednesday, Dec 16, 20 @ 1:03 pm:

Is that J.B. or the Hulk?

  22. - walker - Wednesday, Dec 16, 20 @ 1:05 pm:

    Roman@12:05

Well said. I’m trying to disagree but just can’t.

  23. - OneMan - Wednesday, Dec 16, 20 @ 1:18 pm:

    I have a slogan

“DeVore for Attorney General, if you want to sue the state he’s the guy for you”

  24. - Serenity Now - Wednesday, Dec 16, 20 @ 1:34 pm:

    =Man, I miss Wordslinger.=

I was just thinking about him yesterday. He would have been able to sum up my thoughts on this DeVore idiot easily, succinctly, and with biting precision. He could do that for any topic on this board. I still miss him.

  25. - DuPage Saint - Wednesday, Dec 16, 20 @ 1:44 pm:

Going all the way back to Allen Keyes I used to hope my Republican Party would finally nominate nothing but far right nut jibs and get thoroughly thrashed and then the Republican Party would see the little ghetto and nominate fiscally conservative and socially moderate candidates. Rainer, Trump Ives and these clowns sho my hope for naught. I mean really how much crazier can we get as a party?

  26. - 618Dem - Wednesday, Dec 16, 20 @ 2:03 pm:

Bailey and Devore are such a ludicrous bunch. I don’t understand why anyone down in my neck hasn’t figured that out on a larger scale. There are a lot of people in Clay County that know from experience what kind of people the Baileys are. There is a saying down here Baileys only do it for Baileys, NOTHING Darren has done was for anything but personal, selfish gain.

  27. - not for nothing - Wednesday, Dec 16, 20 @ 2:11 pm:

    gonna leave this here.

    https://daily.jstor.org/the-anti-jewish-tropes-in-how-the-grinch-stole-christmas/

  28. - DuPage Saint - Wednesday, Dec 16, 20 @ 2:11 pm:

Nut jobs not jibs. See the light not little ghetto
I know my New Years resolution: proof read

  29. - Dotnonymous - Wednesday, Dec 16, 20 @ 2:11 pm:

Bailey and Devore may represent a new category…they’re both hustlers…and suckers.

    Wordslinger would have eviscerated both.

  30. - Dotnonymous - Wednesday, Dec 16, 20 @ 2:22 pm:

Republicans on the teevee are jumping off the sinking ship…faster than you can say President Biden.

  31. - Nearly Normal - Wednesday, Dec 16, 20 @ 2:27 pm:

DeVore client Joe’s Pub in Bloomington was fined for not following COVID rules yesterday. Article did not mention a lawsuit.

  32. - Proud Sucker - Wednesday, Dec 16, 20 @ 2:40 pm:

Doesn’t the Grinch become the redeemed hero at the end of the story? I guess Bailey and Devore are planning to sing “Fah-who foris, dah-who doris” around the big tree with JB next week.

  33. - From DaZoo - Wednesday, Dec 16, 20 @ 2:55 pm:

My initial reaction is thinking of Devore/Bailey in the realm of Gene Wilder’s rendition of “Pure Imagination” from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. The lyrics seem quite fitting, actually.

  34. - From DaZoo - Wednesday, Dec 16, 20 @ 3:00 pm:

My initial reaction to Devore/Bailey had Gene Wilder singing “Pure Imagination” popping in my head.

  35. - bnrunner - Wednesday, Dec 16, 20 @ 4:06 pm:

Every time I look at Bailey I’m reminded of the cartoon character Baby Huey.

  36. - Chris - Wednesday, Dec 16, 20 @ 4:39 pm:

Grandma got run over by Tom Devore
    Walking home on Christmas Eve
You can say there’s no such thing as COVID
But as for me and grandpa we believe.

  37. - Yellow Dog Democrat - Wednesday, Dec 16, 20 @ 6:29 pm:

It’s really weird no one takes Darren Bailey seriouslty.

on the otherhand, he is probably a frontrunner in the GOP primary for governor.
