Certainly positive news even with all the caveats of being a weekend number. I am trying to stay positive and I’m not going to let the UK mutation freak me out too much

OK. Trending back from the edge.
Now everybody please be as responsible as we generally were during the Thanksgiving holiday.

Mitigation (is/ appears to be) working (again)! Stand by for when these efforts do not work…soon.
- Cool Papa Bell - Monday, Dec 21, 20 @ 1:26 pm:
Admin needs to reward those who have abided by the mitigations and roll back Tier 3 in regions that have made it. Set January 2 as the date.

I am most concerned with the upcoming holidays. Testing seems to be going down and many stayed home for Thanksgiving. I think some still see it as a joke and are tired. I am looking for a spike after the New Year from New Years eve parties. Praying for none though. Once we get through that period we should be in much better shape.

Mitigation works.
- Shemp - Monday, Dec 21, 20 @ 4:36 pm:
How much does mitigation work is the question. In some places, there are a lot of businesses (bars/restaurants) bucking the rules and seeing declines. Fingers crossed, but it’s hard to trust data when it’s been manipulated so much to serve an end goal. When you see bars/restaurants are single digit percentage spreader, it’s hard to swallow the pill.

FL has no mitigation, 2X the population, and basically the same numbers the last 8 weeks give or take blips in both states. (Of course, “season” begins this week, so we shall see), so maybe this is the normal ebbs and flows of a typical virus. FL’s numbers are also skewed from 3 counties (Broward, Dade and Orange) to the high side. The numbers are on WINK news link to FL DOH for the non-believers. Im still not being foolish, but I am also supporting restaurants that have taken precautions….and FL isn’t $137B in pension debt.

Florida also tracks the “climate weather” trends - when it got hot in summer and everyone fled to AC/shut windows/etc. they spiked.
