  5. - Not Fauci - Wednesday, Mar 10, 21 @ 10:13 am:

The CDC just declared that vaccinated people can congregate without masks with other vaccinated people. We can’t presume that they’re not vaccinated.

Campaign ad fodder for the Dems. Holy smokes.

The Douglas Chapter of the Republican Q Club listens to a speech by the Illinois head Q-bah. The topic was the fraud perpetrated by scientists saying the earth is round.

  13. - Ron Burgundy - Wednesday, Mar 10, 21 @ 10:25 am:

-We can’t presume that they’re not vaccinated.-

I think they would be proud to tell you they are not, then say something about Bill Gates.

To the caption: “Now let’s hit that buffet. Sneeze guards are Socialist.”

  14. - Cheryl44 - Wednesday, Mar 10, 21 @ 10:26 am:

Not Fauci, I’m assuming the majority of those people don’t even get a flu shot, much less a vaccine against a disease that they don’t even think is real.

  15. - Nobody Sent - Wednesday, Mar 10, 21 @ 10:27 am:

A meeting for people with too much free time and a high tolerance for self-promoting attention seeking pols.

  16. - Oswego Willy - Wednesday, Mar 10, 21 @ 10:28 am:

    HBO - “Standing Small” - Season 1, Episode 2

Bailey speaks to maskless crowd, says he’s the virus to cure Illinois. DeVore sets up a table in the back with credit card machine to sign up clients. Cabello films the speech with his body camera, half way Cabello gets soup on the camera, it malfunctions. The Millers follow with speeches about the wonderful duality of unity and insurrection , Wehrli continues to tweets about Mautino. Comedy, 58 min

  20. - Sonny - Wednesday, Mar 10, 21 @ 10:42 am:

Imagine if this thing had been “more” deadly and I would bet it would have made zero difference for people like this. Thanks for making everything worse and be sure to thank your GOP Congressperson for their hard work on the relief bill.

  21. - Dysfunction Junction - Wednesday, Mar 10, 21 @ 10:44 am:

Lincoln Day? Douglas County? Gonna go out on a limb here and predict Douglas’ arguments still hold sway over our 16th President’s in this room.

  22. - Oswego Willy - Wednesday, Mar 10, 21 @ 10:45 am:

Local Middle East experts were confused today when attending the “Two State Solution” series by Sen. Bailey as his ramblings had nothing to do with the Middle East.

  23. - Oswego Willy - Wednesday, Mar 10, 21 @ 10:46 am:

“… and that’s where I want to take Illinois”

    (Silence)

    “Please cough”

  24. - zatoichi - Wednesday, Mar 10, 21 @ 10:47 am:

The crowd sort of paid attention, then the speaker started to sing ‘Highway to Hell’ country style and forgot the third line. Tough to come back from that.

  25. - Oswego Willy - Wednesday, Mar 10, 21 @ 10:47 am:

“Excuse me if I’m a lil nervous, it’s not that none of you are wearing masks, it’s that so few are wearing hoods… “

“The horseman on the white horse was clad in a showy and barbarous attire. … While his horse continued galloping, he was bending his bow in order to spread pestilence abroad. At his back swung the brass quiver filled with poisoned arrows, containing the germs of all diseases.”

  28. - Bruce( no not him) - Wednesday, Mar 10, 21 @ 10:56 am:

I’m running for Governor. Please try to stay alive long enough to vote. Wear a mask and get vaccinated. Hahaha. Just kidding, about the mask and vaccine part.

  29. - Keyrock - Wednesday, Mar 10, 21 @ 10:56 am:

    Not Fauci -
The CDC didn’t say exactly what you said it did. It said “you should keep taking precautions in public places like wearing a mask, staying 6 feet apart from others, and avoiding crowds . . . .”
It also said “you should avoid medium or large-sized gatherings.”
That may not apply, since no GOP gathering in Illinois may be big enough to be medium or large-sized.

  30. - don the legend - Wednesday, Mar 10, 21 @ 10:57 am:

Bailey: “And according to Wikipedia, The racial makeup of Douglas County is 95.7% white. Does that sound about right?”

  32. - Henry Francis - Wednesday, Mar 10, 21 @ 10:59 am:

Is that Steve Brown trying real hard to determine if Bailey has a 50-year run in him? (Far right table)

  33. - Oswego Willy - Wednesday, Mar 10, 21 @ 11:02 am:

  34. - Club J - Wednesday, Mar 10, 21 @ 11:03 am:

  35. - Flyin' Elvis'-Utah Chapter - Wednesday, Mar 10, 21 @ 11:03 am:

“Is you is, or is you ain’t my constituents?”

Well, he is running on the Re-Form platform.

    “Partying like it’s 2019.”

  41. - Oswego Willy - Wednesday, Mar 10, 21 @ 11:16 am:

“I call it my ‘38’ strategy. I win a crowded primary with 38% of the vote. Then, I get pummeled with a 38% vote in a loss… so you could say ‘38’ is really important to me and it should be for you too”

  42. - Commisar Gritty - Wednesday, Mar 10, 21 @ 11:24 am:

I thought that one younger guy with brown hair was wearing a mask but then I realized it was just that lady’s hair.

Also @Pot Calling Kettle my biology teacher just bristled at the “Virus Lives Matter” comment 😆. Well played

  47. - Crash - Wednesday, Mar 10, 21 @ 11:48 am:

When the fat white speaker loses the attention of the fat khaki wearing guy in the front row, you know the speaker is too damn liberal for this crowd.

  48. - Get it Solved - Wednesday, Mar 10, 21 @ 11:48 am:

What kind of music do you usually have here?

Oh, we got both kinds. We got country *and* western.

  49. - Gruntled University Employee - Wednesday, Mar 10, 21 @ 11:49 am:

I didn’t know this was taking place a mile from my house although I did keep feeling a disturbance in the Force last night.

  50. - Crash - Wednesday, Mar 10, 21 @ 11:49 am:

OK, we will hear you out, but DO NOT set foot on our carpet!

  51. - Gruntled University Employee - Wednesday, Mar 10, 21 @ 11:52 am:

==“Is you is, or is you ain’t my constituents?” ==

Willy, that’s going all the way back to when Alan “Ace” Gilmore was the city planner for Flora.

  52. - Token - Wednesday, Mar 10, 21 @ 12:01 pm:

The anti-mask, anti-vax stuff is absolutely on point. But, as usual, the way these liberal posters look down on downstaters is so telling as to why this state is so divided. You disrespect them. They hate you. Rinse, repeat.

  53. - justaguy02 - Wednesday, Mar 10, 21 @ 12:15 pm:

All those in favor of restricting Douglas county voting to patriots in attendance …

  54. - JS Mill - Wednesday, Mar 10, 21 @ 12:34 pm:

Headline “Group of capitalist patriots try to figure out how to get more federal farm subsidies”

Alternative “Medicare recipients complain about taxes”

  55. - Highland Il - Wednesday, Mar 10, 21 @ 12:53 pm:

Bailey is drawing tens of people again. A common sight at his “rallys”.

  56. - Rudy’s teeth - Wednesday, Mar 10, 21 @ 12:58 pm:

Diversity. We don’t need no diversity.

  57. - Rudy’s teeth - Wednesday, Mar 10, 21 @ 1:12 pm:

In a few minutes, I’ll introduce you to my friend, Tom DeVore. He’ll explain all about the benefits of a reverse mortgage.

  58. - thisjustinagain - Wednesday, Mar 10, 21 @ 1:19 pm:

“Darren Bailey speaks to the local crowd that was too bored to leave the restaurant in time to avoid hearing him ramble on and on about nothing”.

  59. - dan l - Wednesday, Mar 10, 21 @ 1:33 pm:

    “any yall considered selling herbalife?”

    or

“I’m selling time shares in Pigeon Forge”

  60. - Huh? - Wednesday, Mar 10, 21 @ 1:38 pm:

In just a minute, I’ll be starting my Amway sales presentation.

  61. - dan l - Wednesday, Mar 10, 21 @ 1:44 pm:

    Serious question:
What is this guy actually thinking? Like does he really think he’s going to win or is this a play for something else?

  62. - dan l - Wednesday, Mar 10, 21 @ 1:46 pm:

    oh…

“tonight’s dinner will be tater tot casserole”

  63. - Quizzical - Wednesday, Mar 10, 21 @ 1:52 pm:

I don’t care what the media elite say, when we start watering the crops with Brawndo, the Eastern Bloc will prosper.

  64. - dan l - Wednesday, Mar 10, 21 @ 1:54 pm:

    —–
I don’t care what the media elite say, when we start watering the crops with Brawndo, the Eastern Bloc will prosper.
    —–

Because Brawndo’s got what plants crave.

  65. - Ron Burgundy - Wednesday, Mar 10, 21 @ 1:56 pm:

–as usual, the way these liberal posters look down on downstaters–

My family are downstaters. I grew up downstate. I am not looking down on downstaters. I am however, not willing to respect the willfully ignorant wherever they may live.

  66. - Oswego Willy - Wednesday, Mar 10, 21 @ 2:01 pm:

    === these liberal posters===

    (Sigh)

    Bailey supports a 51st state.

Your drivel to “liberal posters” only makes sense if you think the Eastern Bloc is right in wanting a new state, the hate for Chicago is warranted, and the racial underpinnings are justified.

You believe that, then your drivel makes sense to why you say it, even if it’s wrong.

Your victimhood is still noted, however.

    “Caption?”

“My goal is to first win, then divide the state so people who ‘look like us’ don’t need to deal with people who ‘look like them’… She-Caw-Go people…”

  67. - Gdubya - Wednesday, Mar 10, 21 @ 3:33 pm:

They’ve all been vaccinated and according to the CDC guidelines they can go mask less in a room together??? Yeah, right.

  68. - Serious Q - Wednesday, Mar 10, 21 @ 4:49 pm:

Really hope Bailey is taking the Senate’s required COVID testing to access the Capitol

  69. - Lynn S. - Wednesday, Mar 10, 21 @ 9:24 pm:

    @OW @10:47:

    Daaaaaayyy-

    Uuummm (banned punctuation).

    Funny, but true…

(And I’m another downstater here, who has no tolerance for the willful ignorance too many other downstaters happily choose. Respect is earned.)
